We only get two tiered free single-play tournaments each month, and I've managed to screw up on 3 (so far) of the past 4 of them, teeing off when I didn't want to play .  It would be nice to have a page after clicking the "tee off" button for a single-play that gives you a chance to go back.  A simple text display would be fine, although flashing lights and bells and buzzers would make it idiot-proof...which would be mighty helpful because, apparently, I'm an idiot.

    Just a suggestion;)

Every time someone tries to make something idiot proof the world comes up with a new and improved idiot.

Some of us aren't perfect, and click on things by accident.

But I'm sure you never screw up.

And WGT is certainly perfect.  They would never have to change a driver's level from 90 to 94, or put up the weekly or monthly tourneys late, or accidentally have putts count against ball life, or list a RG as one tier but have it restricted to another tier, or release a new version of the game that has conflicts with a new version of flash, or anything like that.

But despite this, it would be nice for us humans, to be able to cancel a single round regular tournament or RG without withdrawing, if we inadvertently hit the Tee Off before we're ready, or with the wrong equipment, or just simply highlighted the wrong tourney.

And I've suggested such in the recent past.

It's not like he suggested a freaking putting green or something.

Maybe they should get rid of all confirmation dialogue, so we could have more tourney withdrawals, fewer CCs, and less players in general.

And then you super perfect HAL 9000s could have the whole site to yourselves.

    You're right.

    After confirm entry

    then after tee off

    There should be..."you sure"?

    Then "please confirm"

    Then..."are you really sure"?

What the heck is entering a RG, or SP tourney and not playing it?

If you plan on playing later, then enter it later.

    Seems simple enough to me.

Folks complain about the caddy, but that's just one stroke.  I say live with it.

    This effects a whole round.

And sure, if you click the wrong thing once, then click the wrong thing again, you're in no condition to be playing anyway.

As for having to immediately play after entering a tournament, if there was a confirmation button, that would be fine with me.

Although, there is at least one regular premium tourney, the weekly multi-round, I think, that has a limit to the number of entries, so if you wait too long to enter, you can't play it.  Other than something like that, sure, make enter and tee off the same thing, as long as there is one (and only one, ffs) confirmation.

Yep,   this confirmation suggestion is already in place,  it just doesn't show up on the computer screen.   It happens somewhere between your head and mouse finger. lol  ;-)

Sorry, I got pissed, guys.  But honestly, if the OP had been an old time Legend, would you have been quite so quick to dismiss the idea with such a condescending attitude?

Yeah, it's a brain fart, but we all have them.  However, like I said, if you use the wrong meter on a putt, it's just one stroke, but if you click the wrong button and Tee Off on a single play tourney, it can screw up the whole tournament.

And a little more on the Enter, but not immediately playing thing.   I always enter all the free weekly and monthly tournies when they first come out, to see the playing conditions.  I don't play them right away, because I have a week or a month to do so.  And when you play a multi-rounder, after the 1st round, since you've already entered, that Tee Off button is always looming.

I don't enter RGs, then go mow the yard, go shopping, or take a nap.  But I might go warm up with a CTTH and use a cheap ball.  Then, come back an tee off the RG, and find I still have that freaking cheap ball.

And there's a recent thread where several old timers admit they have played tournies with the wrong equipment.

I've been casually looking through leaderboards before, and next thing I know the game is loading up.  I hit Tee Off instead of a leaderboard and didn't even realize it.

And sometimes, though this has never screwed me up, but I imagine it could, the game client can lag a little, and though you've clicked on a different tourney, the interaction box for the previously highlighted tourney stays up for a few to several moments.

You got to admit, there are several things here that are backwards.  Tournaments have definite finish times, but they don't have definite start times.  You have to confirm quitting a tournament, but you don't have to confirm starting a tournament.

I just think it would be nice, if when you hit Tee Off, that your equipment came up so you could see it, and hit Confirm or Cancel.  If you confirm the wrong equipment, then yes, you should have to play with the wrong equipment.

Yes, I know, that Edit My Clubs button is there right beside the Tee Off button.  But, that also makes it easy to hit the wrong button.  Just like having the Leave CC button up there right beside the Create CC Tourney button has apparently led to a lot of folks accidentally quitting their CC, because they aren't asked to confirm it.

I don't come here asking WGT to change the whole freaking game, because my shots don't go where I think they should, like some folks.  But there are a few things that WGT could very easily do that could save some of us a lot of frustration, and this is one of them.

I had to quote it all...just so you now where I am coming from.

I look at it this way...

Say you have a set of basement stairs that you walk down thru daily, and it has low threshold.

The first time you hit your head...it hurts...makes you remember that every time you open the door to go downstairs afterwards, right?

Now, the only tourney that may need to be entered (as you mentioned) before filling up is a credit weekly MR Tourney.

But if you're gonna enter that, back out and CTTH to warm up and forget to switch whatever...why not just play?  How does warming up with a cheap ball prepare you to play with a Callaway?

What the heck.  If you think you need a 4th confirmation for a paid tourney (there are three now I believe)...I hope you get them.
