Is the game getting more difficult ?, or am I just not a very good golfer ?. Maybe its some of both.  I've been playing this game since April of 2010.  I have always enjoyed it but recently nothing is going the way I think, or hope it should. I'm at the Master level and my average is 65.43.  I've been at this level for quite a while now but the problem I'm having is that very seldom do I make a birdie putt, lots of times I'm in the rough, my yardage is always off, all my putts seem to break to the right. I'm kind of surprised that my average has stayed the same, I've haven't had a round under par in quite some time. I'm sure it will catch up to me soon.

I was wondering, once you get to a certain level/average, say somewhere around the 65 mark does the game get more difficult ? I can understand the game getting more difficult as a player gets better, that I think is understandable, but this is just silly. I don't know what I have to do to at least get an even par round once in a while.

    Thanks. Dave

Dave, I'm sure you noticed that when you got better equipment your avg. came down, correct? Take another step and get the Method putter, and try the Nike balls! Nothing gauranteed but My game is better for it! GL!

I call it a "slump."  It's happened to me.  I've broken out of it.  Gone back into it, etc.  Some days I get bounces when I hit terrible shots.  Some days I'm completely lost.  Some days putts lip out.  Some days a shot stops cold from the 30/40 rough.

Even when you ding the shot, there's a little random to the game....as with golf.  Sometimes the randomizer (golf Gods) just has it out for you.

Yep - Sounds like a "slump" to me also. TGor gets this quite a bit and has seen it last 2-3 weeks especially after changing equipment. You just have to work through it . Good luck.

All that said, I wonder if WGT is introducing (they said it's coming!) an additional variable for ball lie. This might explain what I and many others have been experiencing: unforeseen extra distance or shortness of ball flight., and odd deviations in direction.

A downhill lie might add distance because of reduced club loft, uphill lie would do the opposite. Side-hill lie, ball above feet would tend to veer left and ball below feet would veer right.

I don't know if this new or not, but I just recently noticed different lies for the same say 30-40 lie in the rough. ie. the ball sitting up or snuggled down in. Thus affecting the shot  accordingly. Would this be what you are refering to?

Thank you for this information, this is one of the few clubs and balls that I have not tried as of yet. I will give both a try.
