Wgt.... you have done it again.

Why make a Comp like this when only one or a few countries play it.

How about starting a Free comp where the only people allowed to play is outside America....lol.

    Like to see that...lol.

    Not Very Happy

I could understand to some extend why the previous tournament of this kind was limited to USA and Canada. Indeed, you could win a prize where you could play with some female professional player if I remember well. So for practical reason, I can understand why it's limited to USA and Canada.

But here the prize to win is some WGT credits. So I really don't see why such a tournament is created since anybody can win WGT credits in contrast to cash prizes where only resident from 9 countries can win them.

    Very strange...

    Regards

My understanding of this and all the other country specific type of tournaments, prizes, etc. is that they are governed by states in some cases for the US and in terms of limiting the prize awards they are often governed by what the sponsors want.

For example the DOVE golf ball give away was US specific because it was run by the US branch of the company.  Many multi tiered companies have branches that have specific sales and marketing spending that is determined by that group.  The Dove US group chose to throw some of their marketing dollars to WGT and targeted them at the US players.  The companies from other countries could do the same, freeze out the US players for example when a company or branch is spending marketing funds that it wants to direct at only one country.

The catch is that most of these countries view WGT as a US company and I assume they view WGT being a majority US community.  Since many of the products are produced by companies outside the US still find their way to the US, many of these companies want to include the US residents as well.

I can understand if there is a Trip to be won as the main prize, but as Genorb said the comp is only for Wgt credits... i think 500cr each for the Top10.

We have no such Laws in Australia Tarheel  In Melbourne we have Pokies(slot machine) venues in just about every Pub... Sometime I think that might be a bit over the top in regards for Gambling...lol.

Casino's in just about every State.

I understand that some countries and US sates have laws in place.

I remember the Comp for Amazon Gift cards... we were not allowed in that either, sorry we were allowed to enter but not win the Sweepstakes...or something like that... I have purchased Amazon products over the Net.     Go Figure....lol

I also hear the word 'Dove' and their products all the time down here too... We can buy their products in the Supermarket.

I think Wgt might have stuffed up on this one... Sorry.

Maybe Wgt uses an Old set of Guidelines and haven't updated it yet..

I won't be winning a big comp like that anyway, but the chance to compete is great.

As far as I can see,  the sponsor for this event is "Myrtle Beach Golf Holidays",  well if I'm not worthy to at least enter,  then there's no chance that I will be taking a vacation at Myrtle beach anytime soon.

In the US the laws are very strange.  Some states have what I consider gambling but don't allow you to compete on WGT for credits.

In most cases I think that the sponsor of the tournament controls which countries are eligible for a win.

No idea about the Amazon contest the Dove I do understand.
