I know that there are pleanty of links and discussions on losing a "paid for ball", but I have a thought.  We all know that a meter/flash issue can and does cause an errant shot now and again.  When this happens and you loose a ball you have payed credits for it is disheartening to say he least.

I would suggest that WGT allow a reset on a lost ball to be earned through number of completed holes/nine hole rounds/blitz rounds/a multiple of the life of a ball/etc.  Some type of fair measure that will allow a paid ball to be put back in play, witht he exact same life level that was on it when lost.  You can only earn one of these resets at a time, therefore they can not be banked.  The lost ball penalty will still count to your score, so if playing in a match or tournament the player won't be getting a "mulligan", but also won't lose a ball because the software caused a result, not his/her play.

People will say that you lose balls in real golf and this is just realistic.  But in real golf you don't aim properly and swing properly and strike the ball properly and then have an invisible force direct your ball mysteriously in a different tragectory.

This is something that would be an exceptional good will gesture to the players by WGT.

Yes extremely tired of losing NIKE balls on errant meter jumps and stutters!!

WGT should just end all lost ball issues. The balls get used up fast enough. WGT still gets thier money. Lost ball is just a faster way for them to get it!

I LIKE it! But it will probably take WGT a year to consider it and another year to initiate it!

I'd like to see the introduction of an extendable ball retriever to the pro shop something like this:-

    http://compare.ebay.co.uk/like/300758758100?var=lv&ltyp=AllFixedPriceItemTypes&var=sbar&adtype=pla

WGT could charge 2000 credits for it and you never lose a ball again - you have the ability to "retrieve" them.

Obviously this idea hasn't got a hope in hell but it's a nice thought.

As for getting credits for holes played etc - I covered that here :-

A frequent Player Program solves that issue.

How can it be differentiated between a bad club/"hit"/or aim...etc... decision..vs a meter issue?

Personally I think that the balls should be paid/used like the putter pal.  You want to use Level 71 Nikes it will cost you 450 credits for 360 hits - period.  Doesn't matter if you hit half of them into the water or OB since you paid for 360 hits.  Your scores will still be affected obviously but you won't have to worry about that missed ding costing you another $1.50.

You really can't MBaggese.  That is why I suggested only being able to earn one reset at a time and make it with a predetermined method.  if it takes 100 holes to earn one then once you use a reset you have to complete 100 holes before you get another, and they don't accumulate.  Easy enough for WGT to limit it to a lost ball at least.  You would get no scoring benefit from it.
