With just over 24 hours to go until the cut is made, the Open Championship is currently being dominated by the European players of the WGF Tour. Tonnoincanna has blazed his way to the front of the pack with two frankly stunning rounds giving him a total of -18 and a three shot lead over the nearest player.
Sweden, GB and Portugal are then tied for second in the shape of BaaBaaBoom, AllyKennedy and LuisCraveiro with other luminaries such as SimoVoice and Priestess following narrowly behind. With Ally and Luis in such strong contention, it looks like this event will only allow them to further strengthen their grip at the top of the overall tour standings.
Only two weeks remain before the only matchplay event of the season (Accenture Matchplay). This will pit the top 64 players in the tour standings against each other so there's now not long to get into a qualifying position for guaranteed ranking points. Players on the cusp of making the top 64 include GeordieLes, WigerToods2010 and IronKing34 so it's clear already that the MP event will be fearsomely competitive once it gets underway.
There are no time extensions this week so please push forward to get your rounds played in time. With quite a few regulars still to even hit their first ball in anger, you don't want to cut it too tight to the 3pm GMT deadline tomorrow.
