I was looking around the site, and saw somewhere that people have been asking about adding new courses.  They said to list some that you want on the game.  I live in Winston-Salem, NC.  Here we have great golf courses.  Even the local ones without big names are pretty nice for practicng.  Here are my suggestions:

Grandover Resort in Greensboro, NC (great for tournaments)

Tanglewood Golf Course in Winston-Salem, NC

Winston Lake Golf Course in Winston-Salem, NC

Pine Brook Country Club in Winston-Salem, NC

High Point Country Club in Hih Point, NC

If you are looking to put driving ranges in the game, there's some in kernersville, and tanglewood has one even.  Consider these when you decide please.

I've played all of those courses over the years and in my mind only one of them really stands out and frankly by today's standards it just isn't long enough.

The Tanglewood Resort, which has two courses, I can't remember the names.  I think one is Reynolds and the other is the good one.  PGA was played there back years ago and they had the Vantage Senior Tourney there for many years.

However this is a great example of how we have ruined courses.  This course was once considered very difficult, long tight with varying slopes.  I think it measures around 7,000 yards from the back tees.  In todays game the pros would eat it up.  Much like Harbour Town Golf Links down in Hilton Head, there is no way to make the course longer.

Harbour Town was designed in 1969 by Dye.  When it started with the PGA tourney that year the pros had trouble breaking par at 6800 yards, par 71.  Today it is stretched back to about 7100 yards, par 71 and for the Heritage tournament, scores of 20 under for four rounds win it.  This is true at many of the older courses that just can't be lengthened to allow for the 350 yard bombs the players hit today.

Hopefully the USGA / R&A will address this in the near future before all the great old courses are rendered useless for play.

Why didn't you list them there? That's the reason for the thread - to list what courses you would like.

Oh yeah.  You should switch to being a Duke fan.  Because they are the best.
