Since becoming Legend a few days ago, I've noticed that flop shots in greenside bunkers work sometimes and not others. I've had 10yds to pin with 30-40% lie and hit LW flop at about 16yds strength and the ball ended up way short and in rough. And if a full LW is used at appropriate strength, you just can't stop the ball close at all, and it rolls way past pin. Any general rules of thumb for this.  Any ideas would be helpful. Thank you.

inside about 16 yds to pin i always flop from the bunker .. but only with a 64 degree wedge using full b/spin to get under ball & land as softly as possible .. i don't use any other lofted wedge from bunker around the green .. further than 16 yds i'd use full shot .. usually about dist to hole plus 50% using full b/spin .. depending on lie in bunker ..

If the percentage shown is higher then I add a few yards. I agree though bunkers do vary from hole to hole and from course to course.
