Now I may not have the number of posts that some do on this board, but I read most of the posts and try to stay out of the fray that often results, so take that into account...

There seems to have been a lot of discussion lately regarding moderation of the forums and the repetitive nature of posts about "locked courses" or a driving range, etc...In my opinion, rather than having icon reply to these publicly or have other members/WGT staff waste time replying to them, it might be better to have 1 WGT staff member (icon or someone else) moderate all new posts to the forums, no matter how many posts someone has. This way, repetitive topics can be nipped in the bud and explained to the OP rather than going out to the forums and leading to conflict. Other topics that seem worthwhile to discuss as a whole could go out as usual and be there for friendly (I hope) debate. Just my 2 cents....

While I'm at it, a question I haven't seen asked anywhere else:

Are the new pins on Kiawah being used on the "best of" courses?...I haven't encountered them there yet.

No. All pins on the best of courses are in the same position (for now).

Funny you should mention that. it too has been suggested before and WGT's response was they just don't have enough staff to handle that.

    Good Idea tho!

If this idea had already been put in use, we wouldn't be reading this thread now. ;-)

Many of the repetitive threads would require very little response but still deserve one. It's easy enough to just save a small "Thank you for the suggestion." or "You might find your solution here. If not, please email xxxx@wgt.com for more help."  along with the links to the most common issue threads where the suggestions and solutions are.  A moderator would only have to copy and paste the appropriate response and lock the new thread.

Since some threads do not require a response or moderator review before posting there really is no need for them to pre-approve every one. Way too much added work.

A simple solution would be to expand the Active Discussions link so you see the actual thread titles. Categorizing them would be nice but just being able to see a title will steer you to the appropriate thread, either for a question or comment. Instead of those 5 links, show the whole list.

It probably wouldn't help newbies much. They're already posting threads within hours of each other using the exact title of a thread that's staring them in the face. They're not looking over there to the right at the "Active Discussions." They're not going over to the right to use the search function either (as poor as it is).

I guess that's kind of my point...I don't have the time some do to sift through the forums, so icon or someone else could just tell me that this suggestion can't be implemented. Too few staff seems to be a bit of a bogus excuse; wouldn't it require just one person? Realistically there are no more than 75 threads posted per day and most could be let through or responded to within 2-3 minutes.
