    hi

    I totally agree with and think the introduction of the uneven lies is a very good addition to the game. It will be a great movement towards making the game more realistic and maybe cut out some of the silly low scores. However in hindsight I think the introduction of these changes 2/3 of the way into a tournament is not quite right. You can strive for 2 rounds with starter balls to get into a position to finish up the leaderboard then 1 bunker can ruin any chance. It is fun and i have yet to play my 3rd round i am waiting for my new calculator to arrive before i play it.

    Just on another point. My handicap/average is coming down but at such a slow rate. I have to shoot -5 just to get 0.01 taken off. So is it possible when using different equipment ie starter clubs and balls that these are not ranked rounds. I played quite well in the 2nd round and shot -3 but this made my average rise by 0.02. This is not a moan just a frustration.

    thx for all the work put in as this tour is a salvation for one who is so very bored with the ladders site at the moment.

    good luck to all in the 3rd round.

    Terry; to cover your points:

    Lie factoring

    I wasn't going to add it in tbh but I felt as no-one would have a distinct advantage (as it'd only been released that day), I didn't feel that it would distort the scoring in anyone's favour.

    I appreciate that for someone like Woodo, it'd be incredibly frustrating to lose the lead in that manner but my belief is that good scores are still possible provided you play sensible shots. If you're in a bad spot, aim to get back into play and then recover rather than going for the pin everytime. I think we've all become too well adjusted to the point and click game that WGT had become and this makes hitting the ball in play a priority.

    Ranked rounds (and equipment)

    I realised I made a mistake on this one and I'll hold my hands up to say so. Having a ranked round on R2 kept lots of people away for the precise reason you gave. Whilst I wanted this to be a truly challenging week, I forgot that some people wouldn't play if it actually affected their stats.

    I don't plan to have anymore equipment restrictions after this week anyway so it shouldn't be an issue going forward. If I use uneven lies, this has to be done in practice format anyway so it won't affect stats. I will be sparing using uneven lies as I know a lot of people won't enjoy format in its current guise. If you do see it, it's likely to be in R3's.

    Cheers

    James

    I know we all have to play the same conditions, but I don't think the uneven lie feature should have been allowed.  It still has many bugs, in it and needs to be tweaked> This come from WGT   themself.

    Yes I'm still dead last...............back in the corner

    Just a thought ,please before you put the lie factor into one of the games again,think of the deviations, and bugs the game has already. Now they throw in the uneven lie with crazy results cause they need to tweak it they said. Well in this first game of using the feature we had free balls, think of the feed back if people start losing their Nikes because of this feature.

    ;)

    I do agree that it needs tweaking and I'm sure there are a few bugs as well. However from the rounds I've played so far with it (now around 5-6 rounds at Oly and Oak using starter balls), I've found it to be very consistent in how it plays.

    A side hill lie of any note from the fairway generally requires you to add on around 15-20yrds and to aim significantly wide of the target. I've not come across one fairway slope yet which I've thought has acted out of line with other similar slopes that I've faced. Yes it's brutally tough to judge and I don't doubt others will feel the same as yourself but we're all in the same boat and have to face the same potential challenges in this round.

    Rough (and in particular heavy rough) is now what it is in real life; a hazard which you don't want to be in.

    As I said in my previous post, I'm going to be sparing with using it again so please don't think that you'll be facing uneven lies every round. It'll probably only be encountered once or twice more during the rest of the tour and if there is a complete outpouring against it, I will happily refrain from using it again this season.

    Round 3

    Jimbean346 = 36

    Daskino = 36

    Put simply that was one of the most enjoyable rounds I've played on WGT for ages. It was a real battle throughout.

    10th I managed a sidewinder splash out from the front bunker to within 3ft (such a pleasing shot to hit with uneven lies in effect). Lu then hit a stunning eagle which was brilliant on all levels. I then got burned risking driving the weeds on the 4th at Kia (5th) which lead to a double but then I managed to recover with two late birdies including a 28ft trickler with a 12inch drop on the 6th.

    The best hole however was the 17th at Andies (7th); what a brute even from the medium tees. Lu hit the light rough and hit a stunning roller to within 25ft for a safe par. I hit the fairway but with a vicious side lie, my 3 iron took off like a 9 iron leaving me short of the bunker with 28yrds to go. I then hit a stunning punched wedge off a big wind+lie combo which gripped 3yrds above the pin and spun out to inside 3ft - again a monumentally satisfying shot....never have two pars felt as good as birdies!

    Well, James said all, I think. We fought against brutal conditions and lies, and we were pleased as Punch at the end of it. :D

    Shot(s) of the day: the amazing bunker exit by James at BPB #15, and his lovely lovely wedge at SA #17.

    TYVM Kurt. It was a fun round, and the nicer thing is that we were pleased when we had par into that conditions. Uneven lie will be a little hard to digest, but it's a great kick to improve our course management. And practice and learn a lot.

    Even if it's somewhat punishing, especially in sidehill, and something (more than something, tbh) have to be settled to give us a great simulation feature.

    And maybe, when it will be out of Beta Testing, there will be Forums OPs with "Cheater anyone under 65". ;)

    that's the point! i love this improvement and i don't care about the average!! and i hope that will be used also for the ranked rounds

    all the people who played Tiger woods on the play station (2009-2010)should learn faster how to play in these condition!

    we need this condition to be a better players!!!!!
