Thanks WGT for yet another championship tourney that a majority of members don't have a  fair chance to compete or succeed in!

I was wrong about this site...it DOES capture real golf after all.............caters to a small select group while leaving everyone else on the outside looking in!

You can probably blame that on the fact that this site is chocked full of sandbaggers who would abscond with many of the prizes in a multi-tiered tournament..

On a separate note, are the conditions of this tourney set up at the TM level..?  The tees are definitely shorter, and the greens seem slower than the "Legend Tournament " speed...

Did you even TRY to think before you post crap like thisl? WTF do you want, anyway?.. A tourney just for pathetic whiners?

True, if you're playing with with starter clubs (almost assuredly a majority of WGT players), you probably don't stand a snowball's chance of winning. Does that make it unfair? I don't think so. Everybody that plays here has the opportunity to upgrade equipment. A lot of people either can't or choose not to do so. That said, even the best clubs won't shoot low 50's if you don't have the skill or course knowledge to use them well. Hell, I'm a perfect example of that. I've been here 3 1/2 years, have the good clubs & balls, know Bethpage like the back of my hand( almost) but I know it will take a career round for me to even sniff the lead. I just don't have the consistent timing(read: skill) or consistent good decision making to put together 18 great holes.

Here's another thought. even if WGT would have set this up as starter club tourney ( like a few community tourneys) , you'd still see most of those same names at the top. You know why? Because those people at the top have put in the time to learn this damned game, and not spent it complaining in the forums about the unfairness of it all.

Honestly Giant, what do you expect?  There are only a handful of these championship tournaments a year, do you think WGT is not going to reward the players that spend countless hours practicing and playing.  Also, most all of these top players started with an initial financial investment in this game.  Granted most of them do not have to deposit funds anymore, but short of the few multi-account users, they all spent money at first.  It appears by looking at your equipment that you have never spent a penny on the game.  Is WGT supposed to reward people like you or those that have actually put money into the game?   I believe the answer should be pretty clear.

Just like in real life, where there are only a few select golfers that could ever even think about hitting it big playing golf, there are probably only 50-75 players on this site that will be able to realistically compete in these multi-round tournaments.

Should you not like the way WGT operates, either start your own Country Club, and only allow players at the Pro level to enter, or quit playing on WGT.  If you started your own limited tier country club, you could probably compete in CC tourneys for credits.

Being that you are a U.S. citizen, I would like to think you would appreciate the democractic nature of this site.  You can be complacent, not invest, and play periodically at a very mediocre level.  You have every right to enjoy the game at that level.  Or you can put the time and money in, and if you are like the very few that are smart enough to figure out how wind and elevation affect the ball flight, add in the ability to click a mouse button at the right time, and these very few are who typically get the top prizes from WGT.

Another note, the following players are 3 pro level players that recently won 2 night stays and golf due to the generosity of WGT.  joesneddon, Alberta2009, CJWILLISSS.  There was also a 4th Master level player that won a trip.  So please don't tell me that only the top players have a chance of winning anything on WGT.

When i saw the low scores being scored by certain players and was astonished, but it just made me want to be one of those guys too, not have a go at the fact they are "too good", after a few hundred rounds and UPGRADED CLUBS i too can produce a very low score on any course

For me it's just not worth the $$ or effort to invest in the best clubs you can get to try and compete with guys who shoot 18-20 under in every tournament.  First you have to level up to get the best available clubs and thus you have to purchase lower quality clubs just to shoot well enough to compete and raise your level and experience.  So you already make big investments in crappy clubs that you're going to never use again once you get to a level high enough to buy the really good clubs.  You're investing at least $50 into an online video game that has to be raking in a lot in advertising alone.

Then if you become an avid player, you are dumping $5+ a week for decent balls, or even more for the Nike balls.  Then you finally get up into the 80's where you can buy the great clubs.  You want the best clubs in your bag, that's $25 for the driver, $30 for the irons, $10 for the 3W, $22 for the TM wedges, $24 for the TM putter.

$110 into a video game after spending weeks and weeks dumping money for cheaper clubs, balls, and time.

It became apparent early on that there are guys who play this game with a lot of their free time and have great hardware. The same names appear at the top of the tourneys almost every time.   I've got no problem with them, I don't think they cheat or anything is sketchy is going on, it's just like any video game, there are good players, there are great players and there are elite players.

If WGT were to ever divest the big tourneys up by tiers it would entice sandbaggers to target those lower tourneys, forcing them to take greater measures to ensure that players are multi-accounting.

I totally agree with JackMcDaniels comments, that to compete you do need the best equipment, which yes costs money, but that is the easy part. The hard part for most of us is the time and dedication to practice the game, so I say good luck to the Elite players who do so. I have been lucky enough to play with a few Tour Pros in reality- they also happen to have the best equipment and dedicate hours and hours of practice daily.

For the rest of us, well I speak for myself, I have one goal, and that is to do as well as I can but primarily to enjoy myself. I have average equipment (I only upgraded from the starters set when at Masters tier) and got mauled in the 2nd round - but it really felt I was playing a true championship course. These days I play off 4 and would have had a simalar mauling playing this course.

As it is a championship why would we have seperate results for different tiers which just encourages the sandbaggers of which there are many. However forcing WGT to actually take greater measures - I think most of us would like to see that happen, I dont think it need a tournament to achieve that.

I think it's great that Wgt allows us, or should I say gives us the chance to Qualify in these type of comps. I must admit the cut line is high, but that's not the point.

50% of players to go into the next round is great. What Wgt was doing in the past it was Unlimited Qualifying and the top 150 players or something like that got to the next round.  Most of us had no chance.

I would also love to be called a cheat if or when I shoot a great score in the low 50's...lol. I'm working on that, might take another 1000 rounds, but getting there slowly...lol
