Agreed on the more generous cut line, but surely it should be based on a single round for the first round, not unlimited as many have pointed out.

Now I feel depressed, another 1000 rounds on top of the 1000's more you have played than me - it is a long and hard road for me, may as well walk the Nullibor Plain instead!

I just want to shoot a 60 LOL!

50% of players to go into the next round is great. What Wgt was doing in the past it was Unlimited Qualifying and the top 150 players or something like that got to the next round.  Most of us had no chance.

Actually it was the top 128 + ties because that's what the cut line is in both the U.S Open and The Open so don't expect that to change. I don't think that either the U.S.G.A or the R&A would allow the top 50% in those 2 tourneys.

I think it's great that Wgt allows us, or should I say gives us the chance to Qualify in these type of comps. I must admit the cut line is high, but that's not the point.

I too like this kind of tournament in parallel to the real ones. They allow for nice comparisons between the two worlds (real and virtual) and observation of the top golfers' fates from well-known spots (cf. the bunkers @BPB#17).

Alas, that cut line thing is bs again though it doesn't really matter. How should so. posting a first round best score on the cut line of 79 come close to the leaderboard posted (not speaking of real prizes)?

Therefore it doesn't matter at all that this cut line was not in effect, like in all of the Summer Tournaments b4. Many if not all above the line were allowed to continue.

I enjoyed the BP championship set up. Made the cut which I didn't expect to do and then shot a 72 from the tips with champion green speeds, which I also thought was very good for me.

Looking for to more of the same kind of tournements.. best part it was FREE!!!!

I've played several of these champinships and ALL BUT 1 give me a lot of shots which dont react normally to day to day playing of this game, in other words Score limitation deviation.

#1, 13 mph tailwind 100 yard wedge with topspin goes 99 yards (but made the 20+ putt), #2 I press on ding but meter carries on going until far end of meter!, a out of my control BOGEY. #3- 15 mph headwind, wood goes 268 yards off green! 4#- 195 iron in 14 mph tailwind goes 150 yards (after 3 load timeouts for some reason) #9- 21 mph wind at 2 o'clock has no effect and i land on aim marker in 50% rough!

Although -4, on #10 i gave up because it was obvious i was not "the chosen few" to win anything this tournament after seeing 165 iron go 164 yards in 18 mph tailwind, and got the round from hell where deviation shots are severe.  Easy to define because otherwise all shots would react how they should, and wind would effect shots too.  (not that i'm bothered about winning, i still have last giftcard won unspent somewhere in my e-mails, instead, it would be nice for all of us to have shots reacting normally to wind, not a select few.  Yes i know conditions are meant to be TOUGH, but its no excuse for the advertised wind speed to not effect shots)  Good luck to the winners, you've obviously had all shots react normally

I'm not sure who you define as the select few but IMO all my shots reacted as I expected. As usual, my problem was execution. All my mistakes reacted as I would expect as well as my dinged shots all flew as I think they should. I'm no where near the lead but the game played exactly as I expect. If I'm one of a select few, I wish WGT would let me know.

P.S. I loved the conditions and the Championship speed greens rolled pure. Fantastic feeling finishing the thing. Kudos to WGT for another opportunity to play a PGA course in anger.

I would like to know what it takes to shoot a 50 on a course which advertised extreme difficulty.  I could barely reach the green for a one putt on a lot of these holes and guys are shooting -20.  I do need to upgrade clubs but my driver goes 245 with no wind and it took me probably 50 tries to hit a 75.

Then on round 2 was brutal playing bogie golf to my own fault but again guys are shooting high 50's with mostly 15-20mph headwinds.  Someone please help me understand what it takes to get there.

I'm no hack when it comes to these games but can't shake this feeling that some have an edge of some kind that I'm not seeing.

Bethpage was a very hard course and credit to that but after so many tries just trying to break par and seeing players shooting such low scores is rather discouraging.
