    I have always played by feel and moved the meter a certain distance based on the lie being 30-40% and 40-50% on short shots. It's a very inaccurate way to play. I would appreciate if some people could share if there is an accurate way to calculate how many extra yards I would need based on the different lies. I play cleve wedges and burner 2.0's with the Nike 71 distance ball if that is needed.

    Thanks

    A rough gage is 12% increase in power for 30/40. A 25% for 40/50.  Each coarse is a little different.. Don't forget elevation and the wind.  GOOD LUCK.

    Fairly accurate. Thanks for the tip.

    I like to run the ball up from the 40-50...After calculating the wind, I usually go up 2 clubs, then hit it with full topspin, at about 90-95% of power...

    Of course, inside of 100 yards, the cleveland wedges can cut thru the cabbage pretty well, and u might not need an extra club, nor the topspin...

    Remember that the ball will fly lower, so you do not need to aim as much as a ball hit from the fairway.

    Here are some useful numbers for CG wedges:

    64 degree - 30/40 = 55 yds   40/50 = 50 yards

    60 degree - 30/40 = 75 yards   40/50 = 70 yards

    56 degree - 30/40 =95 yards   40/50 = 90 yards

    This is w/ premium balls and full shot,no spin adjustment;

    Irons (Burners/R11's) - subtract 10 yards for 30/40 rough from rating on PW/9 iron, -15 yards on all other irons. Out of 40/50 rough, subtract 20 yards on PW, 25 yards from 9 iron, 30 yards from 8 iron, 35 yards from 7 iron, and so on. This is with full shot, no spin adjustment and based on club rated distance.
