    genorb:
I am doubting that it will be reliable everywhere.

It was with Links. The problem here is associating a real physical point in space with the nuances of a golf game. It was all on CD with Links so the comparison isn't really valid but if they got a game to play properly, I would imagine it's a matter of getting the impact of the lie on the shot right, once the lie is mapped.  Toning it down definitely seems to be the initial fix to get it close to right  because the basic directions and lofts are influenced in the correct manner now. They're just a tad dramatic.  :-)

    There is one important thing.

    - The Links is a full 3D game where the stand & layout of the shot can be changed and have the right effect on the ball fly. After all, courses players, etc, everything is 3D (collide objects)

    - WGT is NOT a full 3D game. I suppose the surfaces are made out of a 3D grid pasted on top of the HD pic.

Is the 3D shot layout possible in WGT system? I guess only WGT can answer that. I see the draw/fade possible shot my moving the ball dot left or right although I am nobody to assure that.

However, I believe the uneven lie will be a regular feature in the near future in WGT.

That's how I feel about it. I'm good with it now but if there's going to be a change, do it soon so we can further hone the shots.

P.S. still think playing it on Olympic is the BEST. ;-)

Around the green it is impossible to hit a straight shot off an uneven lie unless you give the max influence in the other direction. It acts like everything you hit is a shank otherwise.

Have tried the new uneven lies. tried 18 holes at Congress.

    - Much better particularly from fairway, the deviation is good according to the lie grid in my opinion, enjoyed hitting from the fairway, really.

    - Out of rough I found it is still very exaggerated and sometimes you don't even have the chance to go for the flag (yellow-red grid), err, you ought  to go for the flag unless there objects/obstacles in front.

    - Out of the sand...humm, went in the sand at hole 4 close to the green and I could not get out with anything but hitting full, at the end my 60 yards Cleveland gave me 12 feet with full swing!!!...nasty I think.

Indeed, you do not flop or chip from bunkers normally, either you make a 1/4, 1/2, 3/4 or full swing. Flops works now only from fairways or fringes,

AWESOME NEW FLAG PLACEMENTS, in hole 13 & 16, new WGT "gold mine" placement in hole 6!! haha. so close to the water.

Hole 7...IMPOSSIBLE TO PUTT, please fix it.

    Eric
