Ball Speed Boost

  Hey there,

  Sat down earlier for a nice round of golf, my tee shot flew like ive nver seen before. I thought, wow, im tripping out! The second hit, the same thing happened, and i thought noooo im not tripping out, my ball has taken some performnce enhancing drugs, and i don like it! I noticed somehow ive got the ball speed boost bolt showing. I didnt purchase it, lol. For the first time yesterday i completed a few surveys, so thats my weird story for the day. Has anyone else had the same thing happen to them? If so, have you figured out why?

  Had the same thing happen a couple of hours ago in a club comp.  Same thing, didn't want it, didn't buy it, & after restarting the browser a couple of times, had to continue with it as I didn't know how to turn it off.  Submitted an in game bug report to WGT via the right click, so waiting to hear.

  And having played most of a round with it have to say that for me, it spoils my enjoyment of the game & I REALLY DON'T WANT IT...

  Anyone know how to turn it off?  (which I think is poss?)

  in your game client , go to menu , then game options , at the top of the game option menu turn it off

  Tks for the immediate response canuck, & done. Was just about to search the forum to find out, as I knew it was possible but not how.

  Didn't help that it was in a CC comp I needed to compl within an hour, but shouldn't have been there anyway as I don't have any boosts.

  For some reason WGT decided to give away the free game boost. I forgot about it and the first drive today, I thought I muffed it. LOL 99 hits left that won't be used because I turned it off. I still don't get why they even have it.

  I just played a bunch of ctth rounds using a cheap ball to use them up. As I said in another thread it sort of looked like the Keystone Cops. But the e-mail said that it didn't affect the way the game played just the speed of the ball after it was hit. But it seemed to me that it did affect the meter speed. It also seemed very much faster than usual.

  What is this SUPER MARIO'S GOLF??????  Thought this was supposed to be realistic? if ppl are worried about time, maybe they need to go elsewhere....So many crappy updates that this game is going down the toilet fast....

  I didn't get any difference in my meter speed. But I immediately turned it off after I was done with the CTTH RG. I don't like it at all. I like the game to play as true as possible. Having it on made me extremely anxious or jumpy when I was hitting.

  I'm enough of a spaz. I don't need the game I'm playing to be one also.

  If you assume it doesn't affect the game play as stated by WGT, what does it save?

  Most hang time & saving is on a drive, poss 3-4 secs saved?  Less on approach shots, even less on short game shots, very little on putting.  So at the very most, I estimate a saving of less than 2 mins per 9 holes...

  Very useful that 2 mins, lol
