I tee'd off in  a tourney prior to its last start time of 18:30 ,I'm soooo frickin pissed...I played all the way to the 18th hole and was 8 under and was pulling the trigger on my last putt,an easy 2' er to go 9 under and when I putted it quit and I got a message that the deadline for the round was over...*** you wgt!!!!!!...again *** you wgt,you let me play the whole phucking round and waste my time not to mention the wear and tear on my ball and my nerves,,,*** you *** you *** you!.....the least you can do is let one finish a tourney once YOU let them start......oh and how about a dozen nike balls to show everyone you have some!!!

    hi

the tournament deadline passed sometime after you have started the round. the timer check is done on the past shot of the game. I am sorry you didn't finish the round, but this is the only reliable way to do it that does not involve checking deadline on every hole.

the deadlines as you can imagine are for everyone's convenience.

Why not give the players ample time to get in if they want to play, and set the timer for 1hour after the last player tees off. Also have a cut off start time, this way only players who can finish will get to play and everyone still gets to have fun.

LMAO,been there and feel ya pain !! If deadline is close I now use speed boost....If you have 3/4 tourneys to finish in a couple of hours it can come in handy.....Andy

Why not 2 hours?...how about 24?...maybe a week if someone is going on vacation?

I think you see where I am going with this, assume the OP is talking about a CC Tourney, if so, when entering the time left is displayed...really no excuses to enter a tourney if it will end befor you have ample time to complete it.

If a RG..once entered (assume you decide to play later, or continue later) it's a quick look at the Tourney results (if filled) to see time duration left.

Rules are rules but I was never aware that once you entered a tournament that not finishing in time would void it.  Where would we go to see that rule?

WGTicon states that the timer check is done on the last shot of the game so that they don't have to check every hole.  If that's the case, then why not check on the FIRST shout of the round.  That would make more sense to me.  If you start the tournament BEFORE the clock expires, then let 'em play.  (Just my 2c)

    hi

the rules are defined by tournament deadlines:

    for example:

say you are playing in a ready go and you singup at 8am. at 10am it courses and you have 12 hrs from then on to finish a round....

you come home at 6pm, get dinner, start your round and on 9th hole, you feel like a nap and then forget to finish and only get there the next day... and you realize you have 9 holes left.

but, while you did all that, everyone else would have to wait for the round to finish before it pays out and results are finalized.

that's 1 of the reason we have hard deadlines.

This was a country club tourney round 1 set up as  4 different rounds over a 6 day period and I feel your rules should be a bit different in this situation, let the CC owner or his tourney administrator set their own Rules, they are after all the one to create the tourney and don't need you to intervene!!!!!!!!!!...................

This has happened to me several times in the past. A few had a chance to be my best rounds. Every time it was on the last putt, not on the last drive, or approach shot, ???????????????????????????????????. In real golf, there is no time limit. OK guys you have 4 hrs to complete this round, whoops 4 hrs and 10 seconds, guess what, you lost it all, round forfeited. Total Bull$hit. Wear on balls should be replaced, and the birdies/eagles should be on your stats. Won't cost WGT one damn cent.
