  I was wondering... has anyone ever Aced the 18th hole at St. Andy's?

  I was playing a CC tourney earlier today, got to 18, had a 26 mph tailwind so I did the grip and rip thing, ball ended up 1.1 feet from the hole (I saved the replay BTW).

  I know there has been at least 1 ace on either 9 or 10 (possibly both) at St. Andy's, but not sure about 18.

  With the thousands and thousands of players playing thousands of rounds I'm sure both have been aced many many times...........I've come very close but no cigar,this is where a lot of eagle's come easy..

  Sweet shot !! Before I watched the re-play I presumed you'd driven down the right of fairway as it rolls towards pin that side,never seen a straight one..will try it..Andy

  Nice shot - 315 carry!

  After my first green hit to 7 feet I asked the same question. The answer should be in the "Double Eagle" thread - it's a "Yes!" IIRC.

  Edit:

  On our club championship this weekend one guy (2.x HCP) aced a Par 4 for real!

  261 m over a lake - well done!!

  He only closely missed his seventh championship in a playoff.
