    Hey all,

first of all I want to thank the tournament organizers for their very passionate and splendid performance. It was a totally different and yet absolutely awesome experience that allowed to see the courses the way they were meant to be. Tough, brutal and "par = birdie"-like. I would enter another tournament like this without a doubt and think it should have a much bigger participation. Maybe you could offer some kind of a random award amongst the finishing players next time (would offer to sponsor that in that case!).

Secondly, I sadly wasn't able to play my round with Colm. It would have certainly been great and I understand the wishes of Corwyn and Cerino to do it like that. I didn't get any answer of him since yesterday and couldn't afford to have to schedule a game during the weekend that is close to impossible to play for him too due to family commitments. In 1 hour, the kids basically have holidays and I will not be able to spend enough time here to ensure the final round to be played. Especially not as the Ryder Cup qualification closes in now.

That being said, I played my round with alosso as my marker as he wrote before. It was a very tough start, playing poorly and getting some drive deviations/misclicks leading to early bogeys. Although I kind of improved after that, it still wasnt spot on and the 30ft meter let me two very short putts (<5ft) misjudge and miss (at least I think it was the speed that caused them to miss). The real ignition came very late but allowed the round to go in red figures which is always great in this format.

Whoever wants to play some holes in these conditions with me shall just send me a friend invite and we will see when we find the possibility to do it. Really look forward to getting to know all of you "brave starter club "fighters" ". Here are my screenshots in addition to the ones that alosso already posted:

Thanks to everybody and make sure to complete your final round! =)

    Cheers, Hans

    Hi hyena,

Thanks for the kind words! We will certainly invite you for the sequel. It's been wonderful to have your enthusiasm and willingness to take part despite the challenges.

Say, I can't quite tell from Axel's pics (they're just too fuzzy!) exactly what you scored. It looks like it might be an 80 (front 9 39, back 41, yes?). Is that right?

Can you submit formally via the link?

4th Round Posting link here (Olympic)

    Thanks, Corwyn

Congratulations Hans, on an excellent final round score. It's so impressive that you've managed to play every round without going over par once. Six under par feels like a very appropriate likely winning 72-hole score for a true Major tourney under the toughest conditions. And your GIR score this round is just phenomenal given how hard it is to hold these greens.

Barring something extraordinary from Colm, it looks as if you've secured our first place. What about it, Colm: can you shoot a 64 to tie?

Hans, I love your idea of a random prize amongst the finishers. Clearly, something to keep the interest of everyone going in a tourney where our scores are inevitably going to be somewhat spread out, would be a great thing. It's certainly been a little disappointing to lose almost a third of our players over the last 3 weeks.

I plan on collating, and responding to a number of the reflections you've all made at some point early next week when I have a little more time. I'll try and distill thoughts into a few key questions that I hope you'll have time to offer responses to.

And thank you everyone for the kind appreciations of the work that's gone into this, and your interest in future tourneys along similar lines.

    Thanks,
    Corwyn

I'll take u up on that offer Hans, coz I love playing uneven lies.

Congratulations on your performance, it is very impressive .

just want to point out that normally a player can only win one prize in a tournament so obviously I will get moved up in the ave dist to pin and win that prize............

Kurtsbuford and I got our final round played. I practiced a bunch and he didn't practice at all. We ended up with the same score if that means anything. lol We both struggled some and hit some great shots when needed. Funny thing we both nearly holed out on 18 from off the green. I was wondering what would happen without getting screen grabs of the final putts. I suppose we both could have verified each other.Once again fantastic job by Corwyn of taking care of the admin work on this Tourney. :-)

Just a heads up to all the players. I live in the direct path of this upcoming hurricane on the US east coast in NJ. I'm pretty sure we're going to be losing electricity come Monday and beyond. I'll get myself back here as soon as the weather and conditions will allow. At that point we'll be giving out the awards. Hope not too many others are in the same situation.

Thanks to all the players who gave this Tourney a shot. It was a really hard test and just finishing all 72 holes is to be commended. I really enjoyed reading some of the comments about the game play and the rounds. If you're like me playing this uneven lie "thing" is really just playing normal golf as it should be played. The ground effects the tee shots so the approach shots should be swayed by the lie too. Add in the starters and brutality ensues. Fun wasn't it?  lol ;-)

Very fun game CD, my 2 double bogeys were the result of complete miss hits involving meter stutter which i should have been able to avoid.......no excuses the course is tough and to go out there blind  was very exciting for me.    Like visiting another planet on WGT, LOL.    I had a blast in this tournament...from game 1 with corwyn.......to st andys with the mighty duffer, and finishing up with CD.  It should be noted that i know CD had more on his mind than just golf with the storm coming into to his state of New Jersey.     His -1 back 9 proves what he can do out there.   Great efforts by all.

if you need me to post my fairway and greens shots i have them, but CD knows I played by the rules.   Thanks, another well run tournament.....directors should be proud.

    Fun it was for sure!

This is my first community tourney and I liked every second of it (maybe except of being in those dreaded bunkers in &$%&"§)!

Ein grosses Dankeschoen, a Big Thank You to the never resting C's, Cerino and Corwyn!

Your power, your patience and your relentlessness brought that big no. of players through the four rounds.

Besides the perfect preparation in the first posts of this thread it was the timetable which struck me in the beginning. How invaluable was this thing considering the different time zones and various occupations of the participants.

Then the google docs, prepared to perfection and allowing for steadily updated leaderboards, not to forget the continuous heads-up here from week to week.

I was glad to be asked for my opinion in the "average calc" issue, but this was only a minor contribution which I well owed to the tourney and it's organizers. The solution came only by chance, because of this singular case in a practice round on OLY - see other thread.

I also experienced big support and sportsmanship from all the players who accepted my company. Regardless of tier and results, you all are gr8 guys deserving my deepest respect - thank you very much! This virtual world lives and does a great job for a real world community!

Thank you for organizing and running this fun tournament. Really enjoyed playing with the uneven lies and starter equipment.....even though my scores may not indicate that.

Probably could have score better if I took time to learn the starter equipment again. The uneven lies really do make you think about the risk of going for the pin as opposed to playing 'safe'. Only had a couple shots not go where I thought was reasonable, but those were from bad lies so really hard to complain about that.

I'm interested in playing in another one of these, so please let me know. Thank you again.
