Was in a beach bar this aftenoon (1st time this summer) and got talking to an English couple who have just moved over to Spain. After a few cold ones I asked him how he fills his days while looking for work and he responded with."Well I found this addictive computer game that can keep me occupied all day,it's called WGT"..So after 2hrs of discussing the best way to approach different holes/courses and threats of a sex ban from his girlfriend if he didn't change the subject, we left the bar with dinner arranged for Friday night....So not just friends you can make on-line..Just wondered if anyone else has had any WGT moments IRL.....Andy

Mid September and first time down at the beach......you REALLY  need to get out more lol.

A couple of weeks ago I played at club not to far away from me, and saw the group that had been in front of ours at the 19th. I overheard one of the group saying I dont get it, on WGT I drive 270 easily, on the real course it only goes 230 (and that was overstated was more like 200 as we waited every hole to tee off).. Anyway we started chatting about the game (WGT and the real game for a couple of hours)..

Seems we can't get away from the game even when we try lol. Pity I cant replicate my WGT form on the real course...............but then again, if that was the case I wouldn't be here. Alan

I know of a gentleman overseas that has hosted another WGT player from a completely different country on holiday.  Pretty trusting and pretty cool.

Personally, I've connected with a couple of old friends that I noticed played WGT now that I haven't talked to in a couple of years.  And, now we skype while we play.

Funny story, but true. I was playing at my local course a couple of weeks ago. There was a threesome on the tee. When the first guy hit his drive he yelled ding. I didn't say anything, his ball sliced into the woods, one of his friends told him he got vem'd. I totally cracked up and said typical WGT. They turned around and asked me if I was familiar with the game. I told them I was a level 94 Legend on the game. The guy who sliced his drive says, well then you guys just need to play through. I told them my name on WGT, but they wouldn't tell me theirs, only that they were all pros and had only been playing WGT for a short time. Our foursome teed off, when we were on the 5th tee, they were just on the 3rd. Still don't know what their WGT names are, have been waiting for a friend invite.

Our company has an annual charitable organization fund raiser luncheon. At this year's event, a guy at the next table showed up wearing golf shoes as though he had made other plans that afternoon, but his boss wouldn't let him out of the luncheon. I asked if he played a lot of golf at work, and he joked about playing WGT while he's on sales calls.

We work on different floors, so I'd never met him before. And he said he hadn't really played in a while after making it all the way to Master, but he might start playing again. I'm not holding my breath for a friend request from a guy that wears golf shoes to a charity luncheon.
