I say it was a variation on a gust. You know, those tiny twisters you see in the wind. Yeah, that's it. :-P

It's one thing to see a golf ball ricochet off the flagstick, but these shots shot back out of the cup that way.

Just too funny for words!!! Especially since I was on my best round - cost me 3 shots ugh!!!

I feel your pain, I was playing yesterday and having a great round at Oakmont. 4 under and then WGT decided they would stop it. On the putting green about 9 yards from the hole. Putted it perfect, hit the flagstick bounced off and cost me another birdie. After that every hole 11 to 12 mph wind left or right, adjusted for yardage the wind didn't affect the shot. It cost me a few strokes. This went on for about five holes. Today I took some revenge on WGT and lost some of their worthless balls for the fun of it. I'm tired of them taking the expensive balls away from me when they want. Petty of me? I just don't care!
