Real life golf is a wonderful game as demonstrated by its
popularity. It appeals to hacks like me all the way to the people wearing the
green jackets but what makes it phenomenally successful is the camaraderie
among those who love the art and science of the game. Periodically, I will go to
a local course and play a round by myself but if that was all there was to it,
I would soon quit. It's when I walk the fairways with friends that the game is
sweetest. It's not primarily about whacking a ball around. It’s about whacking
the ball around with friends. When camaraderie and the art and scienced of golf
are no longer valued, club houses digress into coin rooms. Coin rooms are club houses without heart. Just sayen'.
