WGT mentioned in an earlier posting that in early October the percentage thing should be history!  Here's hoping that it comes about!

I guess you are supposed to see the game out, and I think you have to click on the Close button when finishing. Could be wrong though, although I do have a 100% showing.

I wish I could help out better.  But, somewhere you are going wrong.  The only reason I say this is because when completed, I click main menu, close, or whatever and nothing happens to mine.  Even when I just shut the window (after the game is completed obviously) and come back later....sometimes the next day......I click "forfeit" if I lost.  I still don't get docked any % points.

All I can say is I'm not doing anything differently than before, and I haven't had a dropped game in probably a week.  From my angle (not saying I'm God), the system works fine.

I don't like the fact that it counts aginist you when your playin in cc tourn. and your playing unlmited rounds i  don't quit when playing alt. or match play. THIS RATING SHOULD BE TO LET PLAYERS KNOW THEY ARE ABOUT TO PLAY A QUITTER IN ANY GAME OTHER THEN C.C. TOURNEYS. come on WGT get this fixed   C.C. players know each other  and whom to play with or not to play with. i got a 67% rating  and havn't quit  a reg. (outside  c.c. game) in  forever.  i know this cause i haven't played anyone outside my C.C. in 3  months.

It is NOT just a rating about quitters and it shouldn't be. It is a rating for someone to judge whether or not the person they are considering a game with is going to finish the game. It is taking into account the failure to finish the round for any reason. Not just quitting. If WGT is responsible then all players will be reduced proportionately. If your machine or internet connection is causing the cut-off then your opponents deserve to know that.

I do not think it should take into account any game in which the player is on the course alone. Unlimited play tourneys are a good example. An argument could be made that this program could be used to slow down ridiculously low scores in unlimited play but this either isn't the place for it or WGT should explain that they are attempting to kill two birds with one stone.

As for Alternate Shot play, in real life you win as a team and lose as a team. If your partner isn't around for the finish your % should go down because your team failed to finish. Choose your partners wisely.

In group stroke play, the same thing applies. When everyone teed off on the first hole the intention was to invest whatever amount of time to complete the round. Even if everyone else leaves the game your commitment to the round was made. If you fail to play your round all the way through the last hole, you quit the round. Just as in real life. It all counts. It should all count.

The % system as it is currently working (or not working, depending on your perspective) is obviously a work in progress. It needs some adjusting but not many of the drastic changes that people are screaming for. Many people need to see it as what it is, not what they think it is.

Where does it show your % quit ratio? Does it only show up when you are playing some one else?

I addressed a very respectful and enthusiastic letter to WGT administrative panel, suggesting very humbly (since I am nothing but a player and a simple client on this site), that they should allow the community to vote on keeping or not the % tag.

So many weird things have happened since they introduced that feature.  I have a 97% by the time I am writing this thread, but I know what it feels to go really low without having quitted a game, and that sure is not an accurate way to measure one's intentions on stay all the way 'til finish what one starts, and of course no one would like to walk into a real life golf club with a tag on the forhead that says : "this guy is a quiter".

I find lots of insults in almost everyone's walls, from players calling "quitters and losers" to others, without knowing for a fact what produced a disconnection.  To me, that simply shows some sort of confusion and paranoia caused by the urge of keeping and protecting one's % reputation at all costs.

I like the idea of being truthful to oneself, and I really enjoy not the pleasure of defeating another player but to share a good game, good humor and good fellowship and if anything prevents that "niceness" to happen, then that thing should be put aside or at least reviewed more closely.

Respect to all and your opinions.  Thank you.

Quijotazo - From reading the various threads I agree that many weird things are happening. That is a clear sign that the program requires debugging and adjusting.

You are, however, still reacting as if the program is just there to identify intentional quitters. It isn't. It's there as a tool for people see what the odds are that the other player will still be around for the end of the round. It doesn't matter if that other person has been leaving intentionally or not. If that other person is continually cut off due to poor browser maintenance or a poor internet connection his/her opponents have the right to know that as well.

As for the insults being posted on walls, that is no different than what has always gone on in this game. The walls were already filled with accusations of being a quitter and casting insults without any knowledge of a person's history or the reason they left the game. If anything, this program is cutting down the amount of those insults and charges. Without the % it's easy to claim anyone who didn't complete a game is a quitter. It's a little more difficult when the person has a 90+% completion rate.

According to MrWgt the percentage drop in multi player games is being worked on so only the person that disconnects takes the hit, which will be better than it has been. I haven't disconnected personally but I have played with quite a few others and friends that have caused them during our play. One of the things I have noticed with playing my friends, We use voice Skype and apprx. 90% of the time the disconnects have happened they have lost Skype connectivity at the same time which tells me it is their internet providers that is kicking them. The few times it has been WGT they remain connected in Skype.

IMO, Still and all the best way to know if someone quit is by the events of the game play.
