    WGTpizza:
Sure, I can understand asking that question. The answer is no, I do not know when any specific meter optimizations will be released. In fact, I am not aware of any specific meter optimizations currently in progress.

    As I said before.......Ask MisterWGT.

Or are you not the conduit of information between WGT and the community?

    WGTpizza:
Sometimes, changes can be made that go unseen, or even unannounced. We will be as transparent as possible, but there are certain aspects of this business that we are not able to share publicly.

It would go a long, long way towards building WGT's credibility if we knew when to expect said "optimizations". Go for it!  Be an advocate for the community!

    WGTpizza:
Many optimizations are implemented with every new release. We have released optimizations in the past and we plan on releasing more in the future, as they are developed. This is the never-ending growth of a business.

I don't see any improvements.  See my results from a retest of game client CPU usage posted 7/31/12 on this post.  My results show and my conclusion in July was: "WGT has made little if any optimization of their code in these areas during the last 18 months."

    WGTpizza:
I believe the miscommunication in this thread was Andyson taking MisterWGT's words to mean that there is one "specific meter optimization" that will be released soon, when in fact the optimizations are general.

Nope, nope, nope, I never thought that or said that.

Even then those can be subdued some what by turning of all screens but the game sceen and shutting off the friend invites in menu options.

True, I only have the game client open when I'm playing.

Personally I prefer the invitation alerts "bong" to be on so I get an audible warning that the meter is about to spasm - sometimes (but not always) that allows me to pull out of the shot.

This is not a situation where MisterWGT is not giving enough information.

All of the information I post on these forums come straight from MisterWGT or an appropriate department within our company.

I'm running out of responses for you, Andyson. I believe I have stated my position, and you yours. If you want information from WGT, you can look for my involvement in these forums. If you want more information than that, then you are going to have a hard time.

Sorry to hear that, friend. We can work with you to better your experience if you would like to email our support department, but I would be remiss if I didn't mention that many players have in fact noticed improvements.

Good luck to you in your endeavors :)

Here is something else one may consider.

If anyone here is into flight simulators, which I play one called "Allied Airforce", which is CPU and graphics intensive which I play at 1024*768 screen resolution with the following framerate of 60 FPS.  Note, texture files are at hi resolution and hi detail.

Lets be honest, my flight simulator is alot more demanding than this game.

Secondly, my video card directly supports the hardware acceleration of Adobe Flash, just a little food for thought.

I seem to remember a discussion 2 years ago where more demanding flash programs ran smoother than this game.

My results from retest (link above) showed a marked reduction in CPU usage with hardware accel turned on.  good tip.

Speaking of food, I have this image of WGT developers lounging at their desks, eating sourdough croissants, while tens of thousands of WGT members spend hours tweaking their computers to get a smooth meter at the direction of WGT customer support.

but you (the company, not you) must understand that without us, you have no business to run.

Some very poignant words here. I agree with this completely, though I do back up the company's decisions on sharing information. At the end of the day, we are doing everything that our small little operation can do, and it is up to the consumer to decide whether or not that is good enough for them.

We will continue to grow and change based on our community's feedback (and our budget), and in the mean time we realize there will be some rough patches on the product we produce. We hope to help you optimize your experience with sage advice, and that you will stick with us through it all, but if not, we understand. That's business :)

I hope no one else thinks I'm in PR after that line lol...

I only posted to help people. I have no issues on my end of the meter, and I run firefox 15.1 until it update to newer version of the browser. I am running the 10.3 version of flash from June. I am running pretty smooth except maybe once or twice a day jumps. I have used firefox more than any other browser for this game. I tried them all and that combination between the two has worked. I only have a 12 meg connection, and I rarely get disconnected from any game. I am also using a over 4 year old laptop with a geforce 8800m video card that overheats playing heavy games. It runs perfect for this game. I can't get the laptop apart enough to blow the dust from the video chip. So I pretty much play this game more than any other.

Peoples opinions are taking apart pretty easily in this forum. You can say something that really needs no response and still get it ripped to shreds. That is why every time I would like to help or say anything on here is a debate of whether it is even worth the time. Too many come to rip peoples posts apart for fun. You could be a person that works for the newspaper or for critical writing, and still get you post ripped apart. I have seen some flame wars in this forum, and nothing even happens, not even a warning.
