    Upcoming Product Releases 8-20-2012

I wonder if this will ever be updated, or at least brought up to date?

We have an update coming soon and after that I can check into it. I suspect though, we won't update it until maybe early December.

Please do your clients (all of US) a service: give us advance notice prior to implementing the October 'update'. Maybe a WGT News bulletin a few days in advance, and then a detailed explanation of what's included in the 'update' when you flip the switch - again via WGT News, or a new thread in this forum

That way we can take appropriate action on our end to minimize issues, such as clearing cache in our game-play browser of choice, etc.

    Thank you in advance!

    Hi

I wish this was the case. In post updates on downtime within 5 minutes after they were approved by quality assurance department. Feature blog is usually published the next day.

    :)

I am a little confused here. For the last two updates we got message by our names hours ahead saying that wgt was going to be down for an update for that months update. Now your saying you can't do that? Clarify that for me and others. Usually the monthly update is at the first of each month. This month is a little behind.

Let me clarify: He wanted to know days ahead and blog before we do product release.

On average, (and this varies release to release), we get the green flag 3-4 hours ahead of downtime, so we communicate such asap.

Every once in a while, if we only have few things to test before the green flag, I can announce 10-12 hours ahead that if all goes well, we will have a product down update tonight.

If I may...my suggestion would be to delay update until minimum 24 hours notice can be given.

Use WGT pop ups periodically thought that 24 hour period, so no one gets caught in between games. etc.

There will likely never be an update then because engineers will use it an as excuse to add more stuff in. It's a mad, mad world :)

That explains volumes regarding WGT. The inmates are running the asylum without proper supervision. There is a big difference between managers empowering their people to deal with situations and quite another for management's failure to set standards, parameters, deadlines, etc. and enforce them. If you are going to have downtime, the proper thing would be to enforce a cutoff time for those engineers to add things to the update. If he misses the deadline the engineer gets another month to refine his upgrade and should just put in next time.

It's obvious from the poor customer service, poor communication and your statement about the engineers that WGT management is just plain weak and is making money in spite of themselves.
