I started setting up quick games for only two players (Blitz - 45 sec shot and Strokes 60 sec shot), mainly because I wanted to make sure that I was gonna be able to finish games with the least risk of disconnections possible while having fun, you know; the infamous percentage thing ...

Very soon I discovered the wonderful dynamics of playing one to one games.  The first thing I noticed is a more personal commitment to finish the game.  Secondly, the competition seems more realistic and intense.  Also, the chat is way more fun and fine tuned since both players are talking about the same thing at the same time.

Another interesting thing is that if you win, it's possible that your opponent wants a rematch, having a second game, almost more interesting, dynamic and fun than the first one.  I have played up to three games on a row with the same person, and at the end I just know I have a new friend in WGT.

I just hope that everyone is having as much fun as I am.  Enjoy all your games today !

Great post. When I played TW in the late 90's early 2000's I had made 2 great friends playing that way. Over the years we have lost contact due to real life but we would play that way exclusively other then the League tournaments we had . (which BTW we could set up and do those League/CC tournaments together).

It was the most fun party that lasted well over 4 years of playing that way. Hit me up Quij I like 1 on 1 for that very same reason.

I thought I found a player or 2 like that here at WGT for a little bit but time zones kill the fun alot around here . Oh well . BTW still looking for a regular A/S pard too for nightly matches.

I posted in my CC about setting games up nightly but it seems most of them are already paired up plus the time zone thing . Maybe I should wear deodorant?

Anyway Mr Q if your in need of a game that style add me and send invite.

Play more "match play," Q.  It's also one on one with a competitive edge.  And, you don't lose 3 shots if you have a disaster....you only lose the hole.  And, when you only play 7 holes or so, the games don't take nearly as long as stroke play or skins formats.

Thank you very much pjctas0822.  Let's try to invite each other for a good tri-game  maybe (three on a row if fast), but I need to warn you, keep in mind that I am a true 64 handicap, which means that every nine holes I might make about three birdies ... scared yet ? ... ha ha ha.  Pairing with more than one player is good, since time zone kills the possibilities with only one.  That should be called WGT Promiscuity ... lol.  Take care buddy.

I will send you friend request.  I am a late player on week days, usually 9 - 12 pm (my UTC is -6:00, so that would mean 8 - 10 pm WGT time).  Saturdays and Sundays I play randomly in the afternoons sometimes.

    Play more "match play" ...

Clever suggestion Choppography, thank you.  Wanna play sometime ? ... not kidding !

    WGTpizza:

    Stay classy,

Hello Pizza.  Today I played a match with Choppography, which by the way he won 2up (congrats pal), then he set a new match on Olympic.  The game didn't hold smooth this time, it felt little stuffy from the very beginning.  It got stuck on my end three times and I got disqualified when we were even at the moment.

Thank God he is a true gentleman and understood my situation, we even joked about my third world connection lol (I play from Costa Rica, C.A., but still have great service and speed). I just want to make public my sincere apologies to Choppography.  I checked everything on my end and even tho my connection seems perfect I just couldn't finish this game properly.

If only you could save interrupted games like this and build some way to come back to it and finish it, I bet lots of players would go for it and our percentages would stay in good shape.  There must be a way to differentiate a quit from a game error.  Something like this could be your best Christmas present to us, your community of players and costumers, don't you think ?

I'm having sooo great experience while playing matches. The interruptions happen so often recently. The best part of it is that I'm waiting for someone's move to proceed as the game got stucked and after waiting for ages I refreshed the page and whaaat? 'You've waited for too long, you lost'. Rubbish game. Ok not taking the games too seriously but what is a point of playing for 20 minutes and suddenly being kicked out of the game?

No more matches for now on.

It sounds like your computer needs some attention. That or your internet is slow, this game is as fussy as hell.
