    chrisironsbones:

Next question will be something like this, "When we play in the gift card tournaments can WGT increase my clubs accuracy like the players in Deviation CC, and lower every one else's.  Thanks"

lol....not a word from a Dev yet....I'm sure they'll not be far away though.

I know you were only joking :)

WGT is here to make money.  If they failed to work at that they could be held liable for fiduciary irresponsibility by stockholders and investors.

There is some maximal strategy that balances user satisfaction against dollars made.  I don't suppose they've hit that strategy on the head, but on the other hand I don't know.

Look at extremes.  A million users paying $50 per month is better than five million users paying $1 per month.

For us, it's a game.  If it's more enjoyable than other choices we stay.  If not, we go.  For them, it's a business.  I'm pretty sure they are not a philanthropic organization.

Yeah, I get pissed.  I don't like a 10 mph crosswind dropping to zero just as I shoot.  I wind up in a bunker. I only accept that because I perceive that it's happening to everyone else, too.

Frankly, I came close to quitting when I decided that I was being VEMed.  It's only the amount of bitching in the forums that decided me that I was not being unfairly singled out for bad shots.

Another misunderstanding. Unfortunately, this happened over the weekend, during ours I am not working. I did not catch your post when I previously checked this thread.

    WGTpizza:

    TWOMINUSONE:
According to U.S. Patent 7806777 WGT DOES have the capability.

Someone has been doing some research! I'm glad we have graduated from unfounded claims to attempting to back them up with facts. I'm no lawyer, and the legal jargon makes no sense to me whatsoever. How about you explain how this patent means that WGT has the capability to manipulate individual player's equipment (not all equipment unilaterally)

    Stay classy,

    -WGTpizza

I sincerely apologize if you took offense to this post. I was literally asking if you could explain the situation to me, admitting that I did not understand it. I even commended you for attempting to do some research. However, I can understand how it sounded like I was challenging you, and I'm sorry for that. I had to sit down with the CEO to properly understand the patent, and before I could steal a moment of his time I was open to anyone who was able to offer an explanation.

Your post was made at almost 2am on Saturday. I apologize for not responding faster, but I do not work on the weekends. I happened to check the forums tonight, and I felt I should respond. TWOMINUSONE I've always appreciated your contribution and I hope you understand that I meant no negligence of purposely ignoring of your requests, I was simply off duty :P
    Stay classy,
    -WGTpizza

Thanks very Much Pizza, apology fully accepted, and no hard feelings on my end now. You have stuck to your word in that you are indeed classy.

All those posts I've been writing in the past year, knowing i wasn't mad i was witnessing 2 different rounds 1 for front and 1 for back, a hot and a deviation effected mad round where clubs seemed wrong, or even entering certain ready go's and my clubs were wrong all the way through (and wind too), or other rounds where you could do no wrong and although playing pathetically, missing ding by loads you would still score very low.   I got HOUNDED and was told to wear a TIN FOIL HAT! When all along I was actually right in what i was witnessing & saying, that we're not in control of how certain rounds turn out so how can it be an even playing field if 50 of us enter a $10 ready go and say 60% of us get added Vem, or what i like to call it SCORE LIMITATION (you know what i mean, some holes you will only par no matter what you do)

    andyson:
if the change indicates that the user's skill level has increased, decreasing a sweet spot for a variable of the virtual equipment model; and if the change indicates that the user's skill level has decreased, increasing the sweet spot for the variable of the virtual equipment model, where the sweet spot is an area of a curve for the variable where the area is based on a degree of deviation from an ideal value for the variable.

Next time i'm about to enter a high stakes tournament i'm going to post 4 or 5 rounds of 72 before i enter, "hoping" WGT will see the decrease in skill level, then enter the 10k tournament with WGT giving me its helping hand hot rounds and increased sweet spot where i land within 1 yard every hole.

At least now i know in certain ready go's why my 165 iron with full spin which is usually 161 yards can suddenly land on 168, or why we dont get the usual extra yardages from our Nike balls.  And when my clubs go full distance in headwind, or 100 yard wedge goes 100 yards in 12+ mph tailwind, and even when dinged shots start off from default aim position (pin) not where we moved marker.

Pizza, I can't remember where but I saw a post a while back from WGT regarding an improvement that would enable us to see more clearly why a shot had not gone where we thought it should.

I don't think there were any details but even if it is just including the aiming target, club selection and spin on the replays it will get rid of some bug reports and might get rid of some of the VEM accusations. Although it might not :-)

If my 8 iron suddenly goes 10 yards further than I expected, is it a bug or is it VEM or did I use a 7 iron by mistake ?

Is this something you could look into ?

This would be immediately addressed if you saw what the club was in the replay. Spin setup would be nice, too.

Agreed, having the option to watch the replay with the set up you played would be good. There could be 2 options to view the replay, the normal 1 as it is now, and another button to click to watch the set up option with aim, club etc, that would be nice.

Agreed X2. The thing is... what would WGT gain by providing this option? The way it is now, every WTF shot can be blamed on user error. "Maybe you didn't adjust enough for the wind, maybe you missed your ding, maybe you hit the wrong club, maybe you used way to much power, etc...." If all the shot variables were displayed on the replay, there would be no way to explain away the shot where you executed the shot properly but just got VEM'd. Which would open the door to the "why did my shot go haywire while player B's shot went where he hit it?" argument. Which is a very valid argument when credits are on the line. There is simply nothing to gain from WGT's standpoint by allowing us to see the shot we actually hit.
