    saltiresfan:

It appears to be US only.

LMAO - takng care of your #1 market - no surprise!! i wasn't to thrilled with the ryder cup event either - for those of us unlucky enough not to be from us or selected european countries. there you only upset the apple cart for about 70% of your users. i guess you want to set a new record with the kapitall event and pizz off 90% of your users.  i think a tournament lke the kapitall should only be advertised in the us to limit the negative feedback that you so rightfully deserve. keep up the good work.

    From the tournament rules . . .

Participation is open to individuals who are 18 years of age or older. Note, however, that only individuals who are legal residents of and physically located in the fifty United States and the District of Columbia . . .  are eligible to win prizes.

Doesn't that mean we can enter but can't win prizes ?

The problem I see with those proposed player-sponsored tourneys is that WGT would actually have to open their books to members and players.

It's not just the 10,000 credits. It's the additional advertising dollars that WGT is charging the sponsors and keeping as profit margin that I'm sure they don't want broadcasted all over this site. They could be charging the equivalent of 10,000,000 credits and only offering 10,000 as prizes. They are not going to want that to be general knowledge.

They could also be claiming 5,000,000 registered players but admitting to sponsors that 4,500,000 of those accounts are inactive or multiple accounts in order to avoid being run up on fraud charges. Think of what these forums would look like if that became common knowledge.

Stuff happens.  There are 300 pound defensive linemen playing as cute blond ladies with buxom proportions and tight pants.  Hey, whatever works.

If WGT wish to withhold any prize I win, fair enough, but if those are the rules then I''m ok to play.
