Where do you draw the line at realistic? Do you think they should charge us $100 USD as green fees to play one round at a good golf course? Also, don't forget to put on slacks and a nice shirt with a collar before you sit down in front of your computer to play this game. No denim or other inappropriate attire should be allowed if you want to make it as realistic as real life.

Certain liberties have to be taken. After all, it's just a computer game.

after- please put the reply in comprehendable English so I can understand what you're trying to say. As I asked, where do you draw the line at realism? If it costs money to develop the game and maintain the computer equipment. You want the realism of finding balls; where does the company make up the lost income from reduced golf ball sales? They currently don't charge the fees that a real course charges to play. Should they?

There are weeds and there are weeds. True at your local course you might be able to find the ball but the weeds that we lose balls in on here most likely they would be lost in real life too. Take the gorse bushes @ St. Andrews for example. I once saw a pro playing a round at St.Andrews on the Golf Channel. It was where they pro played and a Golf Channel announcer walked with him. Any way the guy hit his ball into a gorse bush and dropped another ball beside the bush. The announcer asked why he didn't try to find the ball. The pro said " when you hit into the gorse you ask yourself which do I want more a $4 ball or my hand. For me i will always choose my hand.

Hardly lost income when theyve been paid for !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Think you will find they make adequate amounts through the cost of clubs and balls. And dont forget a rake from every game where you spend credits.I agree there are certain occasions where the "lost ball" should not be wiped out.

After... Here's my take for whatever it's worth.... If you were to buy the same balls you are using they would run you appx $35.00 to $42.00 per dozen in real life. Then take into consideration if you shanked your ball or the wind caught it and it went into places in real life golf similar to where they go on here odds are you wouldn't be able to find it either.

Most all of my shots that I have lost balls are because I screwed up by not figuring the wind and aiming incorrectly, miss judged my distance or just out and out sloppy fingered my meter. There have been a few and I mean very few that I could actually blame my meter on, even with those it was my screw up by not backing my finger off and letting the meter go by. So I really can't blame the meter either.

So if one can't stand losing $2.00-$3.00 balls one has to either play better or use cheaper balls. Nobody likes losing them but guess what, it's set up that way and in reality makes us more cautious and better players in the long run because we have to be more watchful of how we play or pay the consequences other than just losing a stroke or two.

It is lost future income when people don't have to replace the balls that are no longer being lost.

The lost ball works both ways. On a real course many is the time that a ball is lost in regular rough, not just the deep stuff.
