hi
you can play several modes together but easiest one by clicking on play now button and in the game window:
1. click mult-player tab --> create game
2. select course and set the settings you prefer
3. click create game and you will be put in the game lobby
4. under add a player, you can select someone from the friend list or type the name manually to invite. Once they accept, you will see them in the lobby. click tee off and off you go!
