You can get in "practice" mode via a multiplayer game.  I'm not at a place where I can attempt this, but perhaps once in a multiplayer game, one can disconnect and then one can save the game and pick it back up as a single player??

I'm not totally sure what the difference is between what it is now and the practice mode unless you wanted different conditions. With low wind and the T greens about the only thing you would be able to accomplish would be firing up the wind, which borders on insanity, or just playing the back 9 instead of having to plow through the front to get there.

Man, is my avg going to go up playing oak. Have to wear ice skates on those greens. Seems they are made of glass or ice. The ball keeps rolling and rolling.

Actually, I did do that. The game was going a bit slow and I had an appt. When I came back, it allowed me to finish as a single. Wouldn't reccomend doing this too much, you might be labeled as a quiter. I posted a 40 for my first 9holes, but I seemed to be having issues hitting the mark today.

Have to agree,Oakmont tough.Wish I could get more distance  with my beginner's clubs. On one hole I can't hit the fairway off the tee.And putting is a nightmare.

Just arrange the disconnect with one or more players before the match begins so all can play alone....Harve

I guess the idea is a way to practice and, or play alone in conditions other than champ tees, tournament greens and low wind...H

Seems to me that if you want to practice as a single player then just sign up for the qualifying round and play and if you don't like your score when you get on the 18th green then quit or quit when you want and start over. That way no other players are involved. If that doesn't work for ya then just wait until after the tournament is over then play until your hearts content.

Heh-Look at it this way. Play like johnie points out and then when the tournament is over think how easy the course will be compared to a month and a half of ridiculously hard (but fun) green conditions.

I think, there's some cheating going on here. How can a course be available for one day and people are shooting 62's. it's like puting on an ice rink. i've been playing wgt for 2 years and i've never shot 23 over even when bethpage black was added. practice my ass, they need different tournys for different tiers cause if i have to shoot a 62 or better when a course is added i'll never win!, it just seems a little funny to me that this course has only been on here for a day and people r shootin 8 under! Thats BS!
