just shot a 9h game, played poorly (41 or 42...forget which), get done with my game, and see that my avg jumped from 72.1 to 84. after 1 nine-hole game.....
help? thoughts? ideas?

That might happen if you have just just tiered up, your first coupla rounds dictate your "starting average" at your new tier..
Apart from that, it doesn't seem right..
You just made Tour Pro. It resets your average when you go
up a tier. Keep playing ranked rounds, and it will work itself out.
