I was able to pry our lead QA engineer
away from his desk for a couple of minutes, and he explained to me a
major improvement that we should be including in our next scheduled
release (or possibly the following scheduled release)
We hear your feedback, we really do. One of the kernels of
feedback highlighted in this thread is about the friends list,
specifically while in a game. Our engineers have been hard at work
perfecting a change to the friends list, while in game. When it is your shot your
friends list notifications will not display on your screen. Any
notifications, be it an invite, or a status change, will be "queued" and
then displayed after your shot is done.
As I was anxiously awaiting this major improvement of not updating our friends list while playing in the game client if it is our turn, I cleared my caches this morning and started a ranked round. I stood on the 1st tee at Congressional watching my Friend List.
I had 2 on-line, a minute went by, still just 2 friends on-line,
I took a practice swing for the helluvit. Still just two friends.......looking good.........
Still my shot...
Crap! 3 friends are now on-line.
Looks like the friend list improvement did not make this update.
To confirm this I did my standard CPU usage monitoring after setting affinity of the game processes to play on only one of my 4 processors. The periodic 60 second spikes due to friend list updates are still there.
I'm disappointed WGT! Instead of this major improvement we got what? More vapor balls?
