The weakest club simulation in what otherwise is an excellent product is the putter.  It would be useful to be able to choose a length of putt rather than have to accept what the program gives you.  Being able to scroll through and chose a putt distance similar to the shot options for the rest of the clubs would enhance the game.

The other enhancement would be a to add a visual scale on the swing display that allows better distance control.  This would be especially helpful on shots that are 50 percent or less.

And, as long as I'm on a roll, why not have the ability to push the distance of clubs by hitting them a little harder.  This could be accomplished if the visual scale for 100 percent of the distance given for the club was less than the full length of the scale.

In the meantime, I'll keep playing and enjoying the game.

Today had a 25 ft. putt uphill 5 in.  perfect swing....Just not enough umpf to make it....only 30 yarder offered

    Yesterday....16 ft....offered  a 60 yarder.....

Yes, something needs to be changed with the putting.....

Still can't help but try this game....

    Enjoy your play

I totally agree with the putting option.  I have quit putting when on the fringe since the only option is the 60 ft. putter.  It has made my chipping better but it would be nice to have a choice.  Even being able to put forward or back spin like on full shots would be nice.  Similar to the Tiger Woods game.

Putting forward and back spin is an option by adjusting the dot up or down on the golf ball before hitting your shot. Of course, our current clubs (starter set) don't give much spin when used but it is still there. Newer clubs, when they come out, will give more spin.

I think everyone agrees, the distance for the putter should be able to be changed but if you read past threads, you'd find that this has been talked about more than President Clinton's hummer. This problem is on the WGT "fix" list as WGT has stated in some of those threads.

Why would anyone want to hit a club less than 50% other than when putting? Also, why would you increase the scale above 100%? I guess it could work, as some people are able to hit farther on demand, but you would loose accuracy as the "sweet spot" would get considerably smaller.

I agree that hitting it harder would reduce the sweet spot, but, that's the risk.  The reward is hitting a higher lofted shot into a green.

The less than 50 percent shots are needed around the greens and for short approaches where a chip or pitch won't be effective....out of the sand, for example.

Thanks for the info about being on the 'fix list'

Yeah, having an "overswing area" that would exponentially penalize mishits is pretty common in a lot of 3-click swing golf games.  It could be done by extending the bar a few centimeters and having both a Yellow and Red overswing area.  Enter at your own risk.

Trick:  On the real course, sometimes hitting a 6I chip is a better alternative.  You shut down the face and put a putter-like stroke on the ball to make it run most, if not all the way to the hole.  This is called a "bump & run" and is a very handy shot to have in your arsenal.

Unfortunately the game doesn't lend itself to hitting bump & runs very often as hitting below 50% on the chip meter will usually result in a chili-dip.

    Here is some help!

I made a putting calculator on excel and now I'm sharing my putting helper with you all!

Easy to use, just have it in the background, enter numbers if you may

    Enjoy

I hope this helps, spread the word

The putter scale can be adjusted and there's a product in the Pro Shop called Putter Pal. It's a visual scale exactly like you mentioned.

Is it me or am I just missing the point here? The putter scale can be changed by using the arrow next to the meter, so you can change the distance to best suit the putt. Yes when you are the fringe the scale reverts to high even if you are 4 feet away. But personally I always check as the auto caddy in general is flawed for most shots.

As pointed out there are aids for putting distance such as putter pal and many takes on those (read the forums) These can be useful to gauge distance for your irons as well. This is where practice rounds are important so you can experiment - take notes if you need to to chart the outcomes taking all the elements into account.

Power boosts have also been mentioned before but for the meantime I would advise you learn all the different types of shots to  cover the inbetween distances - this for me is one of the hardest aspects of the game and I have yet to master this art.

But most importantly, enjoy the game.

People say the scales aren't linear.  Maybe they aren't.  I will play a linear scale, wind, deviations, mis-dings, and everything else and still beat 85% of you. Bring credits.  (The 15%, don't bring credits, I will not play with you except for fun.)
