I'm the same, where as before i would be playing up to 5 hours a day, now i only play 1 or 2 rounds a day.  I think when i used to play constant i would remember every inch of green and how breaks effected ball but now i dont play as much i seem to have forgotten the breaks and 12 foot putts i used to sink seem to lip out or i go wide.

Usually i would always INCREASE my credits, but the past month or more I've been on the same amount of credits, never stretching ahead like i used to.  (might be a lot to do with hardly any one wanting to play matchplay challenge's anymore)

Or you might not be alone and WGT have tightened up the game for all of us..LOL

We must get rusty if we dont play as often, I bet if you put the hours in (hard to do if you have no time in first place) your game would soon come back.

I think it's simply the lack of frequent play, dyb. Play every day and you become familiar with the meter speed that goes with each club type in your bag - driver, woods, irons, wedges, and (most important of all) your putter.

With longer periods between game play, you are essentially having to 'relearn' the game each time you play.

Here's one suggestion:  a CTTH game (closest to the hole) takes less than 5 minutes; commit yourself to playing AT LEAST 1 of those per day. That way you will maintain your 'meter sense' using a variety of club types.

All that said, even talented, steady, multiple rounds-per-day players will suffer through spells of poor play when it seems the golf gods have it in for you.

    Oh, and Chris?

I know I'm not the only one who believes WGT has indeed 'tightened up the game' for all of us. Putting especially is more difficult the last 2 months or so.

Im the same as above post at min, just dont play enough rounds to be in peak form, imo the best way to find your form is single play, enter a load of comps and play one after the other gets ur timing green reading spot on

or if you having trouble dinging equip max irons or starter ball play a round (just 1 tho u dont wana lose your timing all together) then go back to nikes meter seems smoother and super slow

    Have fun Oys ;)

    Hi Oys

I take it you are still drinking half a bottle of whisky before starting play. If not this would explain the problems you are having. I seem to remember that the only thing that kept the screen still for you was the whisky.

Good luck mate I am sure you will get through it. :)

Trust me, it happens to everyone. I take it as, A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Course. Someone switched my clubs to starters. Why aren't they doing what they did yesterday? For the past week my putter has turned into the plastic one I bought for my 16 month old grand son. I have left more birds on the course than Alfred Hitchcock. It cycles back around and you'll have a few good rounds. I've said this before and I'll say it again. When you see all mid twenty rounds on someones score history, they have dumped some games. Even those who say they always have smooth meters, and never experience the VEM, do not shoot those rounds every single game. If they do, then this game would be history for them, it would be so routine they would have no reason to play anymore. Expect the unexpected, good or bad. A good WTF is as good as an ATTA BOY, at times. Enjoy and keep it fun.

    Hi,

If in a downswing there are always e few steps i take

    1. Am i still doing what is good. ie following the same routine as before.
    2. Is my math still ok
    3. Did i make the proper offers to the VEM gods
    4. Is tinfoil hat tilted the right way
    5. Did caddy take his brightamins
    6. Is trigger finger properly stretched

Most off the time the problems disappear after properly investigating 1 and 2 but also often the tinfoil hat is the game changer.

Just keep hacking you will be fine soon enough
