If you are going to have Open qualifying, for US and UK, the "random wind" has to be fixed...Having to play into the wind on 14 of 18 holes on St. Andrews with less-than top of the line clubs is unfair.  You are obviously rewarding those who have spent the most money, which in itself is highly predjudiced.  Please remedy the situation.  Thanks.

Hey longball2006, The open qualifiers are Unlimited, as you know. Just play another round and you might get 14 of 18 helping winds :). My biggest dread is to actually qualify, and then draw a round of head winds (it always seems to happen on single play rounds, lol) which I won`t be able to re-set. Then again, I have just as good a chance to pull a good round of wind too.

As for your idea of- "the "random wind" has to be fixed"...This reminds me of the politician saying, "Above average- [insert bogus promise here]- for everyone".... I hope you appreciate the irony of such statements ;), I know I do.

                                                    Cheers

Being one with less than top of the line clubs, you point is perfect. WGT admin should also make it easier for those who dont purchase their clubs rather than reward those playters that joined and bought clubs with ther credit card.

I think more of a point is that a prevailing wind should be the norm, not a random wind, yes, the strength can vary, but mostly the direction it is coming from shouldn't.

Say you play one hole from south to north with a wind behind you, if the next hole is east to west, then you should have the wind from left to right and so on.

Yes, wind directions change, but they do not come from a completely different direction from hole to hole

And I agree with a couple of the posts here, until I bought my driver from the pro shop, I could never make the fairway on the 7th at St Andrews, meaning I ALWAYS played a short shot next into the huge bunker in front of the green, meaning I was always scrambling to make par there, if the wind was against, just totally forget it, I've had many a good round ruined when I got to that hole before buying the driver

Is  it ,  really?!     if you had a business   would you not pander to the best  customers?  NOT that WGT  does that,   but  even if they did  I think it would be fair.

Doesn't make sense to say its unfair if you don't have top of the line clubs and the wind is blowing in your face on 14holes.

If I had top of the line clubs and that effected wind making it blow on my back then it would be unfair.

The wind is random for everybody.

Of course they are rewarding those who payed money.  Thats the whole point of selling better clubs.

There might be a problem with the wind but I don't see any relation to the wind and the value of your club.

Such a sense of self-entitlement! I'm not one to stand by and praise wgt. Quite the opposite... but I don't see how people who play this game for free have any right to criticize anything? A decent driver costs 7 bucks and has endless durability. A putter and a few wedges.. even an iron set will only set you back another $25 dollars minimum. Big freakin' deal! lol! I spend that much on food and beer everyday.

LOL! People are so lost, so crazy, so out of touch.

    It's disturbing.

Really    what business would reward those that recive their services for free RATHER then the ones that pay them?!?  Oh  yea  the US government,  welfare  is a bad thing , it makes those that are getting stuff for free feel entitled to more and better.

If  you play real golf,  or for that matter go to a bar every once in a while   you would spend more there in 1 round or 1  night and have nothing to show for it   then you would spend here  with clubs  till ya decide to stop playing.

    smason says it all
