2 other good putters to consider are 2 Redwood putters. Both are as good if not better than the Daytona.

    Daytona Rossa...

First putter I got nearly 3 years ago....  Cheap and a very good Putter.

This is a great time to try any or all clubs we have available to use in the Pro Shop.

That is what we are allowed to have at our present Level (I think).

I've tried all the Putters in the past and for me the Daytona is the best. That's for me that is....  with all putters and/or clubs...  One club is great for one person that same club will be bad for another.

Whatever club you get...  take the time to learn how to use it for your own game :). It's a bit hard to that with Rentals....  but you get the general feeling when you start to use a club... ' ohhh, this club is good' or 'not sure about this one'... Once you Buy it.... then learn how to use it.

    -Roger

What is it specifically you like about the Daytona?

After additional testing (and screwing up rounds 1 of two credit tournies) I think Max putter is not any better than Rossa, possibly worse (the only good thing is better balance, for which reason one can nail more long putts)

The problem with Max is that although it has great many meter increments (10, 20, 30, 40) steps within each increment are few and bad (for 10 you have only 4 and 8, for 20 similarly). For this reason, if you don't notice this (as I didn't for a while), you can miss great many totally doable putts (I even missed a straight 6 footer, by aiming 6 ft which was short...) If you do notice it, you always need to calculate much and makes it hard to achieve stopping 1-2 ft behind the hole...

Rossa's biggest advantage is both great increments (15, 30, 60) AND many steps for each increment (I think 5 or 6). This may in fact be the secret why Rossa is so much liked, as information regarding steps is not available in the pro shop description - you can only find it in the forums or by trying.

This matter (of putting steps for each increment) is still somewhat a mystery to me... Apparently Rossa's steps for the 15 increment are 6-12-15, which theoretically should be even worse than Max or Nike (4-8-10), but with Rossa if I aim e.g. 4 feet or 9 feet, I get exactly that... And with Max I aimed 55% of the 10ft increment and my 6 ft putt was 1 ft short... (on tourney green!)

Anyone has an idea why? (pretty sure that it's discussed somewhere, but this forum's search function is of very little use...)

I have absolutely no idea what people are talking about when they speak of steps of increments, or avatar movements, when the subject is putting. I kind of get it with wedges, because the power bar moves up in jumps which match the avatar movements. But it seems to me that the putter scales are all linear, and you just hit it as hard as you need to using the power bar.

The reason you missed your six foot putt, is because the Max putter comes off a bit softly, like the Nike, for the 10ft scale. So assuming that your 6 foot putt was dead flat, and not one of those trick +0.4 inch putts that says it is level, you still should have hit it at about 6.5 on the 10ft scale.

It was tournament green, so aiming for 5.5 ft would normally produce ~7.5 (at least Rossa would), but in no way 5 or 5.5, if the scale were linear :)

But maybe you are right that the 10ft scale of these putters cuts the distance by a foot or two...
