Just rented the G20 3 wood in the free weekend offer and i'm very impressed and tempted, just thought i'd ask the question to people that have used the 2 clubs to share any thoughts and comments about it please?

I can't see the difference in length or shot shape, but as it's been around a while hopefully there's a few comments out there?

Being that rental kit seems to perform a bit better than bought stuff i was wondering how it stacks up to the r11 after the magic has worn off?

    Cheers,

    Paul

    I'm also renting theR11  3wood&driver
since I didn't have enough in my budget to get the whole set, only the irons.

but unlike you, I do see a big difference between the g20 driver/3wood and R11,
R11 flies higher and lands softer, and is overall longer with the right spin by far.

if it helps, the R11 irons that I bought behave the same was they did
when I rented them prior to buying.

Have had both levels of G20's since I got to the level where I could buy them and have loved them ever since, I rented the TM driver and 3w today to see what the fuss is all about, No discernible diff in distance from the driver, just a faster meter, same with the 3w..I would certainly recommend the R11 irons over the G20's but that's another topic altogether..

I will NEVER give up my G20 driver or 3w until L95, end of story..

Good luck with your ultimate choice :-)

I agree with Lizard. Faster meter and less forgiving, the TM driver and 3wd can go miles offline without much of a mishit. I'm sticking with G20 woods until L94.

Paul, i would get the R11 3W .. u've already got all the other R11 gear .. R11 3W is longer in cross- & tailwinds .. about the same as G20 in headwinds .. i've gotten close to 280yds with the R11 3W .. R11 woods are unquestionably longer than G20's on avg ..

but the main thing is consistency in mtr speed with ur other clubs .. not that difficult to ding that 12pm mtr on R11 woods .. less variance in mtr speeds makes for better overall consistency and diminishes the need for lots of forgiveness ..

    no brainer IMO ..

I use all the r11 kit, no real problems with it i was just surprised at how good the G20 performed. Seen a few good players with it so wondered if i was missing a trick?

Maybe i'm just being sold on the slower meter? Does seem a bit easier to use. I've never had much of a problem with it but recently i've been getting little skips and jumps that have ruining my scores so maybe that's why i'm feeling more confident with the slower meter g20?

I ditched the R11 woods in favour of the 'S' versions, definitely better, and the 3wd with a slight tailwind goes miles.
