I thought with the free weekend rental period we could create a centralized place for people to come and review lots of different clubs. Here are mine

    Max Irons

Yes they have a fast meter but for some reason I dinged a lot of shots with them. I used the calloway legend D ball which has 2.5 feel. They are incredibly accurate and even missed ding shots were usually within 10 feet. They have very good green approach holding power. Overall, I came away very impressed with the set. If only they were longer for legends distances I would own them.

    G20 Irons L83

Was really looking forward to giving these a try. Came away very disappointed. While they do have a very nice slow meter I found they were not very accurate for their rating. Full spin shots appeared to still roll out. Not much else to really say. I would chose the 2.0 irons over these every single time.

Edit: I would like to amend my statement on these irons. My review was based on playing CTTH games. For some reason the G20's played much better in a tourney. The stopping power on green approaches was better and the accuracy was improved a little bit. The 2.0's are still by far better IMO.

I tried the Max irons, too, with 3 different balls-Tour-SD, Nike distance, Callaway spinner. Most dings were with the Nike ball. In a nutshell, Legend accuracy for lower tiers but you have to pay for it with the expensive balls.  Zero chance of competing from the Legend tees, the length isn't there and the PW  crashes right into the CG100, lousing up the wedge setup.

Using them did confirm R11's and CG's are the top setup.  :-)

I tried some clubs just because I could and I am with YJ - still think the R11 with the CG wedges is the way to go.

I also spent some time trying out different putters, none of which I was seriously considering purchasing, but I will offer a brief opinion on the ones I did try. For reference I currently use the level 77 Nike for Tournament and Champ greens but my trusty Rossa / Daytona gets pulled out of the closet for any other speeds.

    Max (Master +)

If I didn't already have the Nike or Rossa this would merit some very serious consideration, if only for the multitude of meters you can choose from.  Doesn't seem as finicky as the Nike on short putts, and has very similar ratings across the board.  As mentioned earlier, the sheer variety of meter distances should make it deadly once you got it dialed in.

    Ghost Spider (level 92)

I will admit I am not a huge Spider fan, but I can understand why so many top players play this one.  IF you are a pure ding putter there probably is not a better putter out there.  I somewhat unfortunately am not.   When you hit the ding it is going where you aimed, but miss it and the precision means it is going right where you aimed too.  Ball seems to come off the face very solidly on short putts which is a very different sensation than I am used to getting.

    Rossa Ghost (level 84)

Really think this one gets overlooked a lot, which is a shame.  This really is a very good club, but without the forgiveness of the Ghost Spider above.  I did notice that I could cheat by missing high or low intentionally much better with this one than with any of the other higher level putters.  The least expensive putter I tried this weekend but if I were forced to pick a replacement for my current ones I think I would either pick this or the Max.

been bangin' away with lvl 30 + lofted wedges for as long as i can remember .. for me it worked out fine cause i really got to know 'em and got predictable results all the time .. almost never used pitch & chip around the green & the flop was my go to shot ..

    until this weekend when on a whim i decided to rent the upper lvl Cleveland wedges @ 100, 80 & 60yds .. 56, 60 & 64 deg ..

i just wanted to see how they played and approached my shots with them from what i've gathered off the forums ..

well, i was completely blown away by their performance and promptly dumped my previous set up in favor of these .. pitches & chips with full bspin are now very predictable and insanely accurate .. flops will now only be used when merited ..

these Cleves can make a massive difference to ur game from 100yds in ..

I tried the L77 Nike putter.  First impression is that the slower meter may help many gain a little more accuracy.  I didn't have much use for the 10 ft scale, would probably use the 20 ft most of the time.  After a few rounds I happily returned to the L92 Ghost to which I've grown accustomed.

But the funny thing about it is that if you're a good putter, you could use a hockey stick and get pretty good results...more than any other club, it's all about what gives you confidence and just feels right.

This is exactly what I did with the free weekend, even tryed the 52 to see what gaps I like but like you chris was Blown Away  these wedges are just sick and can see them definatly saving and/or decreasing strokes very easy. I am now a proud owner of the 56, 60, and 64 just like you and DAM you WGT for the free weekend, made me spend some money and enjoy the game a tad more, guess I should say thanks, lol.

MY normal setup is R11 driver & 3w with the Burner2.0 irons.

I jumped on the chance to play 2 full days with the  R11s driver & 3W and the R11 irons. Driving distance over the weekend might have averaged 4 or 5 yrds longer. Not new info, but the R11 was definitely longer with a tailwind, but about the same or shorter otherwise. Since I tended to hit close to the ding most of the time ( over the weekend, anyway) I can't speak to the accuracy.

I really liked the R11 irons... too bad they were released a few weeks after the 2.0's. If someone were at the point of upgrading to one or the other, I'd definitely tell them to go with the R11's. For myself,  my purchases come pretty much striahgt from my wallet, and I can't say that the R11's are going to make my game $30 better than it is right now. They weren't enough better for me to justify buying them.

The only real difference besides the yardages is the high irons-the 3, 4 and 5. The stopping power of those 3 irons is really what makes them worthwhile, IMO.

I finally tried the top level R11 clubs and rented the whole set. The driver is no better than my L83 G20. The 3 Wood was a little better. The irons were simply amazing and I'm embarrassed at how easy the game became. I'm flirting with getting the things but the meter is a little fast for me and again, it's too damn easy to score. The clubs are better than the pros could ever do. These clubs offer no respect to the course designers and golf in general at all. With dings they almost became boring it was so easy to put the ball on the hole. You folks already using then should be embarrassed of yourselves and your scores.  I'll prolly get them anyway and play with a bag over my head in shame. ;-)

I also rented the top level Cleveland wedges in 60,80, and 100 yards. Hated the crap out of all three. WAY too much spin and inconsistent distance compared to my Pings. Cost too much and not worth the trouble IMO.

Rented the L71 Nike putter. Amazing Butter. loved that more than anything.
