Obviously the player needs to be good in many facets of the game but is there anything else?

Is it the R11 irons? I notice the money leaderboards, big tourney leaderboards...etc and 99.9% of the people have them. I've have only come across maybe 2 or 3 guys who can go really low using the 2.0's and maybe one using g20's.

I do not discount the skill needed, mapping courses, knowing your club distances, knowing how to read putts, experience...etc but it makes me question just how big a difference the R11's might make over other clubs.

You answered your own question sir.  It can be done with any clubs...

guess we'll find out when we reach lvl90, since we both in the same place with exactly the same set up ..

not just the irons .. all the other stuff u mentioned plays a bigger role i think .. although the R11's couldn't hurt ..

Where the R11 irons really help is on holes where the approach is 210+. The 3I burner has a distance of 220, is often inconsistent in distance and can be hard to stop. Those tend to be the holes I lose birdies on.

Kingtuck and wontonamo still use the burners so can't be the clubs. I still use them depending what course i'm playing  but it all lies in the putter.

I haven't noticed much difference with the forgiveness but the extra spin makes a huge difference particularly with the long irons.

    Very noticeable..

You are severely punished with lost distance for missing ding by more than say 2mm, 1 or 2mm either side and ur distance is still about right and that is enough forgiveness for me..

They are incredible clubs and most times you need no spin at all and I play with the Callie z (admittedly slow meter), with these balls they go roughly rated distance with full bs and about 5-8 yds further with no spin at all, so controlling the distances becomes a lot easier, ESP in wind!

I would say avoid spin balls when you get to L90 as they become inconsistent in wind..

Don't even hire them when you get to 90, just buy them and enjoy the ride :-)

Like a turd in a swimming pool, Chris.....even with a bad ding miss, you don't get the ball flying waaay left / right like the Burners, you'll love em....Andy
