Hey Andy my dad told the story about walking 3 miles to school because his dad was too cheap to spend the money on gas to drive him there. No school busses then.

Coincidence- I had to walk because I had "borrowed" my Dads car, (he'd been teaching me to drive) and I ran out of petrol...
When I eventually got home I wish I'd damn well carried on walking..OUCH !!
