Just went and checked where the tl open was at and seen it only cost 200 instead of the 500 is this a error or something new?

It doesn't look like an error, just an adjustment to the brutally lowered payouts (8k,7k,6k). Coming from gift cards in former times, that's quite a downswing... and no Winter Tour visible either..... :(

    Cheers, Hans

I can see WGT going out of business very soon. I guarantee you WGT lowered those payouts because it "cost them too much money".

WGT, focus on the satisfaction of "your community" and not the money. You will get money no matter what! Do what's right!

You're gonna lose a lot of top players like the great ones above. You guys better have a super update coming out very soon or WGT employees might as well hand in their two week notices.

I'm sorry guys - but if you look at last months TL open this appears to be a response to the lack of activity for this event.  Last months tourney paid out 52,500CR to the top 3 - but only took in 11,000CR in entry fees (October was even worse with 7500CR in entry fees).  I don't think any of us could justify them continuing at the same level if they are losing $400 (even virtual $) on an event like this.

Also, it appears that this was done across all tiers - and the percentages have remained the same in relation to the cost: 500/200 entry feels (40%) vs 20,000/8,000CR winner (40%).  This really just looks like a way to increase activity in these tourneys overall.

Kriztjan - totally agree with the fact that I don't like them limiting the winners to certain countries.  I understand legally with certain states/countries and REAL cash prizes - but with virtual credits I don't think this should be an issue.

So they took in $1100 dollars of real money, and paid out fake money, sounds like a pretty sound business model to me. Almost as good as selling insurance. :)
