I have been able to bring my putting average down below 1.5 putts per hole, it has taken a while.  I try to ding every putt, however, if its a decent break or worse I will aim to the best of my ability, play the speed to the best of my ability and ding it but if I miss the ding, I favor the high side of the hole miss.

BooHoo Chuckyboy.  This isn't a game for gamers, so good riddance sir.

    vtaz:

I understood that there were probably many posts and schools of thought reguarding this question, and I've looked for an answer... Maybe I didn't search far back enough?

My concern is that I can cosistantly stop the swing meter short or long if I so choose (at least much easier than the excellent line) particularly while putting.  (I'm not saying I can't hit the excellent line, but it seems much easier for me to do what I've previously stated.

Knowing this, should I start aiming for an intended deviation (short or long of the excellent line) and adjusting my read?

    Does anyone do this?

    Thanks for all your help.

Well, I consistently stop the swing meter short or long most of the time too. It's just that I never know which until I click.  LOL Adds to the excitement.

But I try to aim the putt to play the break and click on the line if possible. When it works I zap my putts for birdies or tap-ins virtually every time when I'm not playing Oakmont.

One thing that is absolutely, positively crucial vtaz-If you miss on the downhill side of the break you will always miss the putt. You might get away with it occasionally when up close but from any other distance that putt will never drop if you miss on the "wrong" side. GL

which brings what i said in, always aim whatever way for your break, but then always go to click on excellent, or away from the side the slope is going, otherwise as jim said, you have a *** show hope in holing a putt,

    Chuckyboy:
. I click on or close to the the middle mark and the swing meter just keeps on truckin' all the way to the right and my entire hole is screwed

I used to have the same problem...but what I did was start trying to click it on the line before the ding line...I call it my lazy click...It works when you get used to it...Don't really try to click it on the line before the ding but when it get's there, then start telling your finger to click as opossed to telling it to click when you are already AT THE LINE...By then it's usaually to late as my meter is really moving, just like a real golf club head or something...That's what they got going on here at the WGT...It starts of slow and picks up speed the closer the club head get's to the ball, just like a real golf shot, imagine that...lol...

It works good and it does take some getting used to...Just like real golf...I got a whole lot of cheats to keep my swing as close to the same as possible...They mine though and impossible to explian here...
