i would really like to hear the pro's and cons about this. i feel the higher tiers require added spin and distance to be competitive. but while playing in the lower tiers i was quite happy with anything that slowed the meter down.

I hope this thread fills up as fast as I think it will!

Until then, I will share my experiences:

I used the MAX balls as soon as they were released. I had difficulty hitting the "ding" and these really helped me learn the timing. Shortly after noticing that I was now frequently hitting the "ding", I noticed that I had trouble putting the ball where I wanted it go to.

So, I found a ball with high spin, and that did the trick. The "ding" practice with the MAX balls carried over to these new balls and I was able to hit the "ding" more consistently, as well as get the ball to go where I wanted it to go... some of the time  ;)

It's about what YOU need. There are many options of balls with varying stats, so I suggest you identify your weakness and find a ball that will help you improve it.

    Stay classy,

I for one don't mind giving my two cents on this...but I'm sure there are more experienced folks who will tell me I am either right on the mark or way out in left field...so here we go:

I believe that as we advanced through the tiers there was a certain amount of "forgiveness" that was lessened and lessened. Forgiveness on our shots, distance, accuracy, spin, etc. Maybe I'm wrong on this, but I seem to have noticed it, all the same. Clearly, as we advance, greens become tougher and tees become longer. I played for the longest time with the unlimited ball or some of the WGT 10c balls and noticed a difference in my game when I started hitting the 10c balls, so I knew I was on to something. Now as  Tour Master, I can see the difference those expensive balls truly make! I treated myself to some Nike balls and almost fell outta my chair with their performance.

I'm not one to hang my game on a particular piece of equipment...I'd like to think I have enough skill and hand/eye coordination to say that my game is what it is because of me, however, I recognize that I could not have gotten where I am, without the basic G20's and then the advanced G20's when I leveled up. As for the balls, when you invest in the clubs needed, you should think about doing the same with the balls. They not only help in decreasing the meter speed, but they also enhance the clubs.

Bottom line, I'm a stout advocate of the Callaway IZ ball because compared with the Nike ball side-by-side, you get practically the same bang for less of the buck.

Then again, I could be out standing in the left field...LOL

IMHO, I think that the WGT Tour SD balls for 65 credits are the best value. I have only tried a few of the more expensive balls though, the most being the 200 credit Callaways. Give some a try, and see what works best for you.

I've now got my average below 61 by using the rocketbladez + lvl 11 srixons.  srixons are only 180 crds with good durability, feel, and spin.  with your long driver and short tees, you'll be sticking them 10ft every time...

Agree. I used the Callaway spinner for  long time and went back to these. Much less deviation and more than enough distance and spin for the R11s and CGs.

The best part of these is they make you fearless around the water.  :-)

Go to the leader boards for the tour legends and legends and see what ball they play. This will answer all your questions. Nikes are good for two strokes ever nine holes for me...personally. JMO.

My game has gone to another level using the Callaway  iz slow meter  balls , i love the speed of theese and i love there overall performance , the best ball i have used IMO but many others disagree , i have tried the MAX balls and they are not for me so it comes down to personal preference  good luck .

What Dflop said and the Level 48 or 71 Nikes for me. I know how differently each one of them play. If you can afford to dish out the credits if not Those 65 credit WGT SD balls work just fine. Need a fast finger though :)

I own quite a few of all the types I mentioned. I just find when I am off timing wise I goto the slow meter Calls but if not then I use my Nikes and the SD 's for A/S and fun or practice.

It's not realistic but you can stop the Nikes on a sixpence with top irons so they're the only ball for me. Expensive habit though.

It feel like the business adage "spend money to make money" to me. By having the Nikes I have far more chance of winning credits in RGs and being able to buy more.
