I have a question for WGT.

Not to diminish the 120K shootout.  I think it's great that folks can do this and play at this level.

However - it seems there is a way for players from multiple country clubs to play in a WGT tracked tournament.    Why can't the tool which does this also be used for Community Based tournaments ?   I'm guessing someone provides WGT a list of the players ahead of time and they load these players into the tournament ... or something similar.

Just think of it.   Community based tournaments which are easy for people to track - don't need screen shots posted / spreadsheets updated, etc. etc.   All you would need is to either provide a list of the players to WGT ahead of time so they can load them into the tournament - or - develop a way to give the community a tool enabling them to do it themselves.     Include some type of match play 64 player / team tool and the community based tourneys will pick up ... and so would the enthusiasm for the game.

I'd take something like this over "golf bags" any day.   Just my opinion.

    Hi

it's not as simple as that. These are manually hard coded + players have to email in waivers, so we can manually take buy-in from their account to build-up the purse.

Those have different dynamics as well.

What Lou said is where WGT's future should be pointing. The changed clubs, new bags, new max balls...etc etc.... is just lipstick on the pig.

WGTLS continues to be lead the way with Tournaments, and thats sad looking out from a WGT perspective.

Hi Icon .. I understand it's not simple ... but by WGT catering to those who have won tons of credits from others is not the best way to get community buy in.      I understand that right now these are manually coded, e-mails, waivers, etc.etc. have to be done ---- But wouldn't it be worth programing time to set something like this up for the "masses".   WGT would still get it's cut and it would make for more community based tournaments.  I hate to agree with BM on anything ... :) ... but this would be worth more to the future of WGT than golf bags.

Here's what I envision .... the ability for someone to set up a community tournament just like we do it in country clubs.   Pick how many players are allowed to compete.   Part of the sign in process includes the waiver to take the credits for the prize pool.   Nothing different than in one of the WGT sponsored tournaments that limits the amount of people who can play - except the community can set them up.    Might this lead to a lot of tournaments set up ?  You bet !!!   Isn't that good ???   You bet it is ....

Anyway I just wanted to see if someone is thinking in this direction.   Thanks :)

    I hear ya,

I suspect the issue is the waiver part... it's one thing when you have 10-15 people who usually do this and are comfortable with such wagers.

Another thing is to automate it. I simply do not know the actual rules and regulations and logistics for this. This does sound like a good idea to bring up and see what others think:)

Dont we essentially sign a waiver when we click the check box to sing up for a Ready Go?

Seems like you could use the same setup and add the waiver into that? Add another box w/ waiver info or use the same one and change the "fine print"

-I never do, but I play from the game client window...

    Edit:

Actually I just notice a "By clicking enter you agree to..." from the client page.
