I wish to make an apology to all the players I have played in the last few days, especially any A/S partner. Why you may ask.

My driving has been all over the place and I have been specializing in leaving my partners shots from 60-70% rough! In fact over the last few days I have been averaging only approx 50% fairways hit. Sadly my putting hasnt been much better lol.

Now I cannot blame anyone but myself, no I don't think WGTpizza or WGTicon have given me a bad slice of VEM nor do WGT have a conspiracy against me. I can't even blame my meter for my errant ways.

Now I have had slumps before and will again no doubt (I am positive this is just a short term blip) but I still have had a great time playing and have had plenty of laughs (mainly at my expense I should add).

So at the end of the day, the most important aspect of the game is to enjoy and hopefully the good scores will come. But in the meantime till I play a little better please accept this post as my apology.

    Alan

Very nice to see a person apologizing without blaming the game. Refreshing! But with that being said in all honesty I dont know who you play with but its really shouldnt be required as the game is meant for fun. Everyone has a bad streak or plays poorly.

I  know you end up feeling really bad but in the end its just a game, have fun and shouldnt be taking it to serious. I would play many a rounds with you or anyone as it for fun. Sadly I have played with some that take it to serious and get upset about poor play from themselfs or others and that to me is just bad sportsmanship and I dont like that.

Have fun, hittim the best you can and just laugh when things go wrong to much serious stuff in real life to let a game get to you!

    Cheers,

    Mes.

Alan, a very nice gesture on your part but you're being too hard on yourself...you'll more than make up for it I'm sure.  All the same, a thoughtful post and the mark of a true gentleman.

I know exactly how you feel Alan,it happened to me more then once and it's not fun.I know it's just a game but being legend puts a hell of a lot of pressure to perform like one.And in alternate play with three excellent players, you make a couple of bad shots and then you start playing like a hack and it does'nt feel good at all. It's stupid really, but I think it's also normal to feel bad and a liitle ashamed. It's nice of you to apologize like this;you didn't have to do it,but  you probably feel better having done it.

which is what it's all about ..

in fact, with the guys in our CC our a/s shot games are a hoot .. these guys pull no punches in tryin' to derail your game whilst playin' .. the comments & banter are non-stop, shameless & hilarious .. makes it difficult to play any shot whilst tryin' to control ur laughter and tears blurring ur vision all the time .. a good shot would constitute anything that isn't outta bounds or in the drink .. lol

I know exactly how you feel... I used to play this game very consistantly up until last May when I had a pretty bad stroke that left me with a few severe problems. So I started playing again had good and bad days. Until one day playing a match game with a club owner who saw my determination, invited me into his country club and was welcomed with nothing but the finest support from all the members I played with. My biggest problem was just not remembering how to play certain shots from different situations, but everyone helped in their own special ways. Although I still have good rounds and just plain horrible rounds, I'm actually having fun again. My country club is my biggest support group and I can't thank them enough. Hang in there and if you are accepting any more friend invtations I would be more than happy to accept. I play quite frequently since I got forced into early retirement due to the stroke so give me a shout sometime. I play all formats and any course.
