Advice please on driver

  hey all,

   

  i am currently on level 41 and back at the beginning of the game i purchased the Taylor Made Rocketballs set and was very dissapointed as its was only a very small improvements to the wgt set you start with.

   

  i am now thinking of purchasing a new set and researching the pro shop i found that a very good option would be the Ping G20 set available at level 59. The driver has a distance of 270 (which is very close the the furthest driver out there, the TM R11s with 284) and also has a slow meter as compared to the clubs which go a bit further.

   

  i therefore think the G20 is a very good option. however i do not want to the same mistake as in the past and buy something which i will later regret.

   

  is there something i am missing? please give me your advise....

  You could rent a G20 driver and give it try, before buying one.

  I use the G20 (L81+)

  what is the difference between the level 81 and level 59 G20?

   

  from what i can see 10 extra yds, but at the expense of a quicker meter.

   

  is that right?

  First off, welcome to the forums, you will find much help here.   

   

  Without knowing how much you are able/willing to spend on new clubs, my only advice to you would be to look at meter speed and forgivness.  Don't just focus on the distance part of it.

   

  Or rent first,  IMHO, wasting a few cr's to find out if you like the clubs or not is very much worth it.

  Hi Tiger

  Wait untill lvl 59 and go with the full g20 set. U will be fine until legend tier. High trajectory and enough distance to get to legend.

  I went with the Ping K15 which you are able to get right now they are a huge improvement over beginners and lasted me right up to Master when I went with Ping G20 for extra distance....just my experience though good luck with your choice.

  Hi Tiger welcome to the forums and sensible asking the forums for advice. I used the lvl 58 G20s until I made legend. They do have a slower meter and are forgiving, but my advice is to rent them before you buy them. (and you still have a little while to wait).

  You will still find on some long approaches that the 3 and 4 iron still will not have the spin to hold the green.

  The other advice is to ditch your hybrid and get 3 wedges. ASAP - this will save you a lot of shots.

  all good advice. i use the R11's but try renting before you buy. have fun on the greens !!

  which 'activity' get you moving up the levels the fastest, i.e. get you the most xp's in the least amount of time?
