Looking for feedback on Ping irons

  First of all let me say I love this game, used to play Links LS all the time (I presume that dates me) and have just recently discovered WGT. Have made Pro shooting an average of 71 which is fine with me, still miss some shots that over practice with this game I will make.

  I am using the Ping Rapture 2010 (33+) and have enough credits to upgrade to the same set (48+) or wait until (59+) for the G20's...I am at level 46 right now. Just looking for people who are using Pings to let me know what they think.

  The raptures will increase my precision from 1.5 to 2.5, all other attributes stay the same especially the slow meter and the forgiveness.

  The G20's increase spin and precision quite a bit but also increase the meter speed and reduce the forgiveness.

  Stats are as follows

  ........   Pre  For  Spin  Meter

  R33     1.5 4.0  2.0     1.0

  R48     2.5 4.0  2.0     1.0

  G20     3.5 2.5  3.0     1.5

  I love them.  Got them as soon as I could, and will use them until I reach level 81 to get the higher ones.  I love the slow meter and the high ball flight.  They can definitely carry you well into the Legend range.

  I got the G20 woods and hybrid at level 58 and the irons at L59.  I've been very happy with the game play.  I, too, plan on at least the L81 G20 driver.

  When I come up I bought both Rapture sets, there were no G20,s now if I had to do it allover again I would wait for the G20,s just for credit sakes.

  I never owned nor tried the G20, but I hear good things about'em,
  if they're anything like the G10 I used to own, I'd say go for it.

  the G10's really served me well for over 30 levels,
  I imagin the G20's will do that even better.

  if you can wait for'em, I'd say hold on for the G20.

  about meter speed..., emm..
  moving to faster meter speeds can be scary,
  but if you don't let that bother you,
  you can sort it out after a few practice rounds,
  with time the new speed becomes natural,
  so don't worry too much about that,
  the extra yardage, spin, and trajectory is what you want to be looking for.

  W8 till lvl 59 and get the g20 iron set, they are high trajectory and have good spin

  They are the first set of clubs i bought and they  took me all the way to legend lvl untill i purchased the r11 iron bout  3/4 weeks ago.

  Those raptures at lvl 48 or whatever will do nothing 4 you on bethpage/oakmount/olympic on elevated greens and you will find your  scoring holes limited by these clubs.

  Trust me they are very good clubs the lvl 59 g20 set  and once hooked up with them they will do you proud especially if your prepared to get good spin balls

  I am kinda in the same position as you - although i waited a couple of extra lvls and brought the Ping K15's (lvl36) which I really luv.

  Really to answer your question it depends how "rich" you are and how much money you want to throw at WGT..... i however will (again) be waiting the few extra days for the G20's at lvl 59 - maybe even just buy a couple of the level boosters if you "rank up" to the further tee's before you reach lvl 59 - it'll be a cheaper option than buying the Raptures and then looking for new clubs again when you reach lvl 70 ish

  Also as mentioned forget about the slightly faster meter - pretty sure you (and me also) will get used to it after a couple of rounds

  100% agreed - wait until these are available for you as this set will last. There are still legends using the lower level G20s. anything less will just mean another upgrade sooner

  But as Ladzris says, a better ball will aid in stopping the ball on some of the elevated greens
