Best of Putting competition ?

  I would certainly be interested to know whether wedges were being used in the "December Best of Putting Sweeps Tournament" as the top scorer submitted a score of 8.83 ! ! !

  Best of luck to the guy, but a bit unfair if he was using wedges in a Putting Tournament.

  Rant over and hopefully WGT will take notice.

  You are allowed to use any club on a real green. Let's not alter the rules and make our game even less authentic.

  you are NOT allowed to use any putter on the green, if ANY Marshall saw you use anything other than a putter on a green you would be kicked off the course so fast your head would spin.

   

  Its called PUTTING COMPETITION for a reason.  the name says it all, probably never thought someone would use a wedge on a putting competition

   

  I also the 8+ ft winner... not to mention the 15 ft second place. if he used a putter good for him

  Well......those stupid damn Scots that wrote the rules of golf 500 years ago. Apparently now .....we see that they were wrong and it is not allowed to use any other club but a putter on the green.  Hmmmm. ??

  It is agreed that the practice would be frowned upon by the vast majority of clubs, however it is NOT against the rules of golf! Read the damn rules, if in doubt. I swear I am going to find a way to putt one from the fairway and make it ! That should open a whole new can of worms about the legality of clubs in unusual sitiuations!

  Please don't tell Mickleson he is a cheat and a fraud and a disgrace to the game of golf. I doubt that would be well accepted by him or his vast troop of fans.
