Default Meter Distance

  I would like to see the meter distance default to the same distance regardless of where the ball is on the green or fringe and let the player adjust as necessary. In "the heat of battle", it is too easy to forget to check it and mishit the ball usually way past the hole especially from the fringe where it defaults to 100 feet even if the distance to the hole is only a fraction of that. Or to have a 27 foot downhill putt while the meter robotically defaults to 50 feet because the distance is greater than 25 feet. Granted, there may still be errors but they will at least be errors in player judgement rather than game generated mistakes.

  WGT will hang on to that incompetent caddie forever as it seems.

  It was inconveniant formerly to get the Starter driver on each tee while the Rapture 3WD was the longer club,

  it's a nuisance to get a high putter scale on the fringe, regardless of the distance,

  but in the last days it must have hit the bottle far too much: On several occasions my partner and I shot way too long or too short with irons and putter because this b*st*rd gave us other clubs than stated.

  He must have the CEO on toast, otherwise he'd have been sacked long ago.

  *sighs'

  Get used to it and doublecheck the club & scale on every shot.

  Thankyou for your response. Yes you are right - until there is a change, constant vigilance is the only defense against calamity of this sort. I was especially annoyed about it when I wrote the post as both my partner and I made the same error at different points in the match and it ultimately cost us the match despite a rare eagle on the 18th at Congressional.

  Yep, seems to be an issue with par 3 holes, like #3 on Olympic, the caddie always presents the driver as the option, or #8 on Beth where he always presents the 3 iron,  starting to think it is the caddie that has had one too many beers...lol
