formula fo tournment speed putts

  I've got the speed down pretty good for the very fast greens, but I cannot figure out how to adjust for tournment speed. is there a fomula for this?

  Downslope  -33%  upslope -25%  I not use charts I do this in my head. It work for me you see putting averages on mine profile.

  + or - elevation and divide by 1.3.  You'll be close, obviously adjust for uphill / downhill and diff courses.

  PS: ( putting Ave not bad either ) :-)

  This is very similar to what I use, but I add/subtract elevation after multiplying distance by .7 then add a foot or two depending on whether the putt is uphill or downhill. Different strokes for different folks, but the 1.3 (or 0.7, depending how how you look at it) is the key to normal tournament speed greens.

  AHHHH.. 

  Reaytj beat me to it... that chart RULE's ... help'd me alot .. now i rarely have to look at it.. unless i do something silly ...an end up a mile away from the hole... 

  have'nt seen RUNWME in a bit ..but sure do appreciate it... even tho .. i still cant seam to break ... into the 150's .. for puttin avg... UUUGGGGGG !!! 

  the chart is pretty dead on for my NIKE on level surface... u have to learn to tweek it accord'n to up or down hill ...5% or so either way .. 

   i've been in tap in city ... every since i started using it..

  So if it's 10 feet from the pin and 2 inches down, you hit it with the same strength as if it's 14 feet away and 6 inches down?

  So if I'm to understand this correctly, a 17 ft down 9 inches, would be the same strength as a 5 ft up 3??

  Thats what I use.

  There are Legend Tournament green speeds as well.

  for those; + or - elevation and divide by 1.35

  I also will hit at least 1 -2ft past the pin.

  This here is the chart I have used.

  As with RWM chart, this also doesn't include Legend Tourney greens but you will see 1.3 for tourney and 1.4 for champ.

  Increments are generic.

  

   

  Now all we need is a monitor overlay for determining where to aim/ hit for the break!

  Putting is an art not a science.

  How any of you can play virtual golf confronted with all those numbers is beyond me.

  A small example say at Oakmont #2, you are above the hole 15 feet away and the down slope is 6 inches, so a 9 foot putt effectively.

  If you add the slope and lets say a severe break together, what do you think you should hit.

  The answer : hardly anything at all, because the run out from slope and break will virtually take it all the way with just a tap to get it rolling.

  All the charts in the world cannot cover that scenario.
