alanti:why would they implement something that would reduce the revenue stream?
They wont.
However, i do have an idea in which they can increase income via being able to sell old clubs to a CClubs Pro Shop and Player retention.
WGT make $ on the initial purchase.
WGT make a % when selling to the CCclub
WGT make a cut on CC sales
CC Owner receives an income to help fund prized tournaments..
Once a club is bought S/H it can ONLY be resold to WGT, for very little
4 ways WGT can make $ and a Way CClubs can get some funding.
Although this may prevent the purchase of NEW club sales to a small degree.
it WILL promote the idea of purchasing new.
For example, a hack or amateur can now afford a driver for his level, he see's exactly how much his game actually can improve.
(WGT makes $ here where they wouldn't normally)
No putter/ irons, at his level in the CC Shop, so he goes to the WGT shop.
(WGT makes $ here from CC promotion of buying up)
If a club/ set can only be resold once, there is no danger of the CClub Pro Shop being overstocked, or in fact having a Full Range of equipment and any given time.
This would also only benefit the CC as the Club grows. Once the membership is stagnant and no new recruits the Pro Shop would eventually fade out, to a degree.
So, all the while the Country Club is getting funds to promote Tourneys for all levels.
Newbies have increased access to euipment and therefore better membership/WGT player retention.
Wgt ultimately make better dollars due to increased Player Retention. This is BIG, at the moment there is nothing in place for retention, no rewards of any perceived value.
WGT make better dollars for the total sale of an item.
WGT would also experience greater equipment rental revenue.
